Re: MPG with just rollers and/or lighter drive face?

Read my thread about my early variator experiences: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6505 I go into details about mileage and the feel of the changes, etc. Daytona variator is more or less the same as NCY... I stopped updating the thread because it wasn't getting any interest, but I w...

Re: Just when you thought you'd seen it all

I was thinking the same thing about ground clearance. Has to be a stock header because too many of the after market ones would be dragging the asphalt. It looked and sounded like a stock exhaust to me. But he kept putting his feet down during the turns. Was he using his feet to feel the clearance, ...

Re: New rider WARNING!

I've got a HD clutch now with red springs, so it's probably a bit more than 9mph for me. o_O But my area is loaded with hills so I tend to ride the brake against the throttle for a tad too get the clutch to engage for a descent. I've ridden in the mountains a couple of times when I had the heavy spr...

Re: What kinda "automatic transmission" did bikes use before

Honda Cubs (C/CT series) have had clutchless manual transmissions (centrifugal clutch) since at least the start of the 70s.

Hey Paul,

Do you have cameras in your car for just-in-case situations with this Uber caper?

Travel safe! Gav.

Re: Detailed instructions on How 2 Change variator, rollers,

When you use lighter rollers/sliders there is a loss of torque at low revs, which is quickly overcome by the engine spinning up faster in the mid range. Most people (well, none...) address this aspect of reducing roller weight, but it's not really a big deal since you get onto the power band much qu...

Re: Missing stock tool kit. Worth it to purchase? Or make o

The only real useful thing in the toolkit is the sparkplug tool. I don't know how generic it is, but you will need the correct one if doing your own servicing. The wire is for running through the DD ring of your helmet strap to secure it to the hook on the left side of the scoot near the seat hinge....

Re: She did it, Finally!!

If you insist on falling off of a bike, just remember, Tuck and Roll. Your ribs will thank you. In my case, I didn't see it coming or choose to lay down to avoid an air swim or superman incident. It's like I was suddenly Hulk smashed into the ground with the added weight and force of the scooter on...

Re: She did it, Finally!!

Great news, Mel!

After my recent accident I would recommend a jacket with lateral protection, as that would've helped me greatly!
I had the lower arm, elbow, shoulder and collar bone armour, and that saved my arm at least, but those ribs...

Re: Me rollers fu@@ed

You can mix weights of the same type of roller or slider, but mixing sliders and rollers leads to this. Rollers have a taller profile at low revs, while sliders have a taller profile at high revs. So the rollers will get 4 times the wear/load at low revs and wear out very fast. I would also replace ...

Re: Changes from 2013 to 2017 (or 2018) PCX 150??

Don't worry about idle stop, it doesn't turn your headlights off, so it caused lots of battery stress on the older OWL model before that was fixed on the LED models... I used it one time and the PCX wouldn't start back up for a green light, same happened to my buddy, but his was shut off for a good ...

Re: seat question

You can remove the cushion, and then it looks pretty ugly without it, and you then lack that support. You can buy modified seats for the Forza that sit back further by as much as 3", but they cost a fair bit. http://www.mpmotorseat.com/HONDA-FORZA300-SEAT Or you can just realise that you're too...

Re: Changes from 2013 to 2017 (or 2018) PCX 150??

So anyway, I want to know everything that I'm missing out on, and perhaps see if there's any advantages that the older models have over the newer models... Just enjoy what you've got, otherwise you'll end up doing your head in with buyer's remorse... :| But basically going from the OWL to the LED, ...

Re: Detailed instructions on How 2 Change variator, rollers,

Slow down fella, you're going ahead of yourself! Run the bike in first and get an idea of what you may need afterwards.
It's easy to think you need 13g rollers/sliders because that's the done thing, but you don't even know the scooter, yet.

Chicaboo, wow those are awesome! Just wish they'd fit with our North American turn signals. Too bad. I didn't link to the older OWL style Daytona side visors, but Webike used to have them under the PCX 125 category. To make them fit the North American SNAIL, you would just need to trim around the a...

Wow, 5mm thick. I hope you don't have a down with that plexi coming back at you. :o
Daytona makes those out of thinner smoked plastic for all models, which is pretty cool.

Re: Oil leak on rear housing and tire.

Is there any oil in the little clear tube on the back of the airbox? Also, you can squeeze the edges of the little black tube next to it and see if any oil leaks out there, too. This is nothing to do with the air filter, but there is a breather tube coming up from the CVT that goes into the side of...
