Re: New PCX Owner, TX

Good to see you on the forum, tcpcx13. Whereabouts in TX are you located? I am from Big D originally, though now living far to the north. Also all-Honda, with a 2015 PCX and a 2002 Accord.

PCX in da House!

Rode my new 2015 PCX 150 home from the dealer today! Bright sun and 55F/12.8C, tailwind the whole way home. No trouble cruising at 55mph/88kph. It rides very smoothly, turns very smartly. Our roads are still sandy from the winter ice treatments, so I didn't push things. We'll have more nasty weather...

Re: First hint of sun....!

Scheduled with the dealer to pick up my PCX at 2pm this coming Saturday. Weather service says sunny and 47F/8C. Roads are dry today; any precip that falls between now and then should evaporate. I really need the bike -- my ancient truck developed steering problems beyond repair, and the car I bought...

Oops -- I meant Slipstreamer, not Windjammer. Their new scooter windshields are generic, not meant for any particular bike. Here's a picture of the mirror- mount.

Sun's out and it's +41F/+5C, wind blowing and SNOW MELTING!

Re: new pcx150

While winter has its claws in, you should consider ordering a windshield online or at the dealer. When it does reach that time when the weather is nice, you don't want to have the wind making the ride uncomfortable when all else is great. When I rode our bike home from the dealer it was nice to rid...

Same boat as you, overthetop. Got a 2015 with that end-of-year allowance, a black one, now in dealer storage until the world thaws out enough to ride. Hope you get some decent weather soon.

Re: First hint of sun....!

-7C here in the Land of Cheese, a good dusting of dry snow this morning, easily broomed off the porch. Promise of above-freezing temps by the end of the week. Willing the planet along in its path around the sun, 5 weeks to equinox . . .

Re: Bigger Grips. Converting 7/8 motorcycle Grips.

I came to like Biltwell grips on my old CB550s; hoping they will be adaptable to my new PCX. Do the weights on the handlebar ends serve any real purpose? I assume they do, since Honda put them there.

WhiteNoise -- Holy smokes, you gotta lotta snow! We haven't seen that much in our part of the Land of Beer and Cheese in quite a few winters. Temps near 40F/+4C this afternoon, though we are due for some snow/sleet precip in the next day or so. Thin sun and dry patches on the street today; made me ...

WhiteNoise, did you make it through the big storm okay? I assume you stayed home and are waiting it out until the roads are clear. Record snowfall in NYC!

Re: Location! Location! Location!

Just in case I make my location sound or look like a great place to move to, I should inform you we have 8 months of winter, 2 months of poor sledding and 2 months of mosquitos. Other than that, it is a great place to visit. Oh, c'mon, RusticCharm, it isn't that bad. Three months of winter, six wee...

Re: PCX 150 for 60 miles/day?

I ride my PCX150 75 miles round trip to work at 55 mph through all wind and rain. 19,000 miles. Almost due for the second rear tire. The original front can go a little further. Should do the third valve adjustment and maybe the third air filter. Mobil 1 automotive oil changes every 5,000 in the dri...

Re: PCX 150 for 60 miles/day?

I used to do my daily commute of 35 miles on a 1968 Honda CT90 (top speed 45mph with a tailwind). I haven't even ridden my new PCX 150 due to the current arctic conditions at my latitude, but I am able to avoid busy high-speed roads on the way to the city. I considered the size bike I would need and...

Re: GIVI B360 on my PCX

DR, have you looked at windshields for your scoot? Mine is also a 2015 (in winter storage, sadly) and it seems that the mounting changed for the 2015 model year. National Cycle has a sturdy-looking shield, but the comments I have read here seem to indicate that it fits up to 2014, but not 2015. The...

Re: Dasshreddar's PCX/Ruckus Hybrid

Dasshreddar -- I don't hate it. The rat bike aesthetic isn't for everyone. I've seen some ratted motorcycles that I love, and I was a big fan of the late lamented (some say lamentable) Big Ruckus. A Ruckus 150 might have swayed me away from the PCX, if it existed. Keep working at it (ratters are fo...
