Re: 1980 Super Cub C-70 for sale

Faster than a bicycle and way more fun than driving a car! But at the sacrifice of both speed and comfort. (At my 5000 ft altitude I could only hit 45mph on a downhill, and after an hour of riding (my work commute at that time) I REALLY wanted to get off the bike for a while!) :| And at that price??...

Re: 2015 Front Center Cover? (below headlight)

Here's the frustrating thing -- the same part in different colours costs less! My PCX is Poseidon Black, so that's the colour I was looking to replace. But the exact same part in Dark Ash Blue (2018, looks nearly identical to Poseidon Black) is $25, and in Candy Noble Red (2016) is only $8 !!! And t...

2015 Front Center Cover? (below headlight)

Hi all, I was looking at replacement body panels and one of the pieces I need is the small center cover located under the headlight, P/N 64503-K35-V00ZD, Cover, Front Center, NHB25M. (My headlight got damaged and this piece is missing.) Looking at pictures of this piece, it looks like a very small c...

Re: what was your previous bike?

My first two-wheeler was a Heinkel Tourist, a 175 cc 4-stroke scooter with 4 hand operated trans, I got my motorcycle drivers licence on it. Heinkel Tourist.jpg I love the looks of this scooter!! 8) How was it to ride? I also got my motorcycle license on my C70. The DMV tester said, "You're go...

Re: what was your previous bike?

My first motorbike was a 1980 Honda C70 Passport. I decided to sell it to buy my Nobilette randonneur bicycle. Now I've got both the bicycle and the PCX. :D

Re: Top Box venting mods?

Yes WhiteNoise , exterior plugs from Ace was exactly what I was thinking, too! :D My local store carries both rubber plugs and flexible plastic "furniture" and "automotive panel" plugs. I don't think I'll ever be without a top box -- it adds so much convenience and subtracts zero...

Re: Top Box venting mods?

Yes, I agree that being able to anticipate my cold-storage needs is the optimal solution. Of course, packing coolers with ice packs before heading out would provide as much refrigeration as I could want on a ride. Instead, my question was directed towards anyone who might've modified their box to al...

Re: Top Box venting mods?

Get a cooler bag, put it in your top box, and then take that temperature as well. My guess is that it will be a lot lower than those other temperatures. That is why I keep one in my bike. Also, if I KNOW that I am going to the store to purchase items that need to remain cool, I add a coldpack to th...

Re: Top Box venting mods?

I took some temps in the shade and in the sun, and then some inside the box: Shade: 75°F Sun: 95°F Box, closed, in the sun: 103°F Box, vented, in the sun: 97°F Each temp was recorded after 20 min. For the vented box measurement I stuck a pencil next to the latch to keep it from closing all the way. ...

Top Box venting mods?

On the occasions I've taken the scoot for grocery shopping, I've sometimes worried about the top box heating up the refrigerated food. (e.g., yesterday I was visiting friends who gave me eggs from their chickens, and the trip home was 1/2 hr in 95F blazing sunshine) I have the Shad SH39 and it looks...

Re: MPG: Getting around 90

... I tend to be pretty heavy on the throttle with the little PCX. ... So most of the time I am pushing the PCX for all its worth, and it seems to handle this just fine, but my mpg is averaging right about 90. That sounds pretty good to me for your style of riding. I have just over 9200 mi on my 20...

Quote "The 2013 model is the fastest PCX model Honda produced" And the mods I read on this thread, are all done on the 2013 model. Has anyone done this to the 2016 or newer. I would like to hear your results. You may have already found other threads on newer models, but I upgraded my 2015...

Re: Made a beer run

You know there's a weight limit for the rear carrier? It was just being used as a display piece right? Grab what you like and move to the food line perhaps? :D LOL, yeah, now that you mention it, I do recall that there was a weight limit spec.... Shad USA says 6.6 lbs, but Shad Euro says 8.8 ...

I have to deal with back pain daily that has plaqued me since my accident in the Antarctic many years ago. The doctors have come under a lot of pressure from the DEA, FDA, AMA, and other alphabet soup organizations to eliminate opioids completely from treatment for chronic pain. Some how they belie...

Yes, exactly.
Your internal visor sounds like a great idea! (My helmet wouldn't retrofit one of those.) Does it reduce internal cooling airflow when it's retracted?

Re: Helmet colors?

It was your recommendation that motivated me to get one. 8) And I recently saw a vendor offering just the visor for around $90, too! My realization from all of this is that I bought my helmet at the wrong time of year. When I bought my Qualifier ($110) the "Deluxe" version with better desi...

Thanks Docscooter2010 , I ended up buying the w/b/r helmet to resell. It had the Transitions visor that I wanted, but the visor alone was $139 and this helmet was clearanced for $129 (with the Transitions visor!). I was able to sell the helmet in about two weeks for $60 with my clear visor advertise...

Re: PCX150 weight limit

The stock PCX 150 would barely do 58mph with my weight when I first got it. Now it does 71mph reliably with mods. I'd LOVE to know each and every MOD you've performed on your PCX 150! I own '16 PCX 150 and love it. But as human nature would have it, I want bigger, better and faster. Getting a Forza...
