Re: the NYC variator

It takes 100 miles or more for the belt to bed in to match the new variator and drive face angles. So don't expect the best from the new setup on day one. Unless of course day one is a big day. :P And some subliminal messaging: http://cdnl.monsterscooterparts.com/media/catalog/category/451.jpg than...

Re: the NYC variator

well i installed the NYC kit yesterday, not thrilled about the new outer drive face not having the 2 holes like the stock unit for torquing the nut, took it out for a test run only about 5 miles, from a standing start, acceleration is very linear, top speed with the old worn tire and stock setup top...

Re: the NYC variator

thanks for the replies. one thing i am skeptical is the front half of the variator with the fins does not have pin holes for the holding tool to loosen and tighten the nut on the engine shaft like the stock one.

Re: How much can the PCX take

I got my PCX toward the end of the summer last year. It has 11,000+ miles on it. For about nine months, I used it much the way you do, once or twice a week on 55+ mph roads. When I went to assess the driven pulley bearing, i observed that the faces on the drive pulley had become pretty well grooved...

Re: missing on top

so a member says hitting the rev limiter, so that i find out is correct, SO this would mean being the tires are the same dia, and they are, it would be somewhere in the clutch not going all the in for the most speed or the belt not getting near the top or belt wear. where is the best place to start ...

i picked up the 2013 PCX 150 with 800 miles on it last week. i am curious with such a small oil reservoir and since the engine is under a more than normal load at times, does anyone change their oil sooner, i am thinking every 1000 miles or when ever it looks dark
