Re: Front Brake Failure - Temporary

The plan is to take it in this week for the 5000km service and work on getting he fluids swapped, brake pads replaced and disk replaced unless they can convince me otherwise. I figure with the cost of the parts and service here in Thailand it would be reasonable to get the repairs. One other concern...

Re: Front Brake Failure - Temporary

Here's the front disk and the result of being overheated. I had no further issues with the brakes but I'm not completely comfortable without a bit of maintenance on the overall brake system. I did a little research and this section of road is infamous for causing brake problems. I was near the top o...

Re: Front Brake Failure - Temporary

Thanks for the feedback. Like I said, I had little options other than to come down the mountain in the manner I did. One thing I should have done was take breaks and decent in stages until I reached the bottom or flatter stages where the brakes could rest while coasting. Lesson learned. I think I'll...

Front Brake Failure - Temporary

Today I departed on a 5 day trip with the intent of staying as close to the borders of Myanmar and Laos as I could without straying over the border and having a problem and getting shot at. As I was coming down from a mountain (1800+ meters) west of Fang Thailand I had been using the front and rear ...

Re: My PCX150-White/Red

How does your satnav communicate with you, Bluetooth or a earpiece? I cant get the voice navigation to go through bluetooth on my iphone running ios 5.1.1 Normally I have earphones from the Iphone inserted for music. I have the GPS volume turned on high and so far I have not missed any directional ...

Re: My PCX150-White/Red

Last week I took a 2 day trip around one of the popular loops here in Thailand. The Mae Hong Son Loop boasts over 1800+ curves, 700+ kms & 1400+m of elevation. The roads for the most part were near perfect except for about 30 minutes of riding on a new road dirt bed being prepped for paving. The...

Re: GPS Mounts

I went with the RAM mounts. A couple of pics are here, http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=440 .

Basically, the mounts connect with u-bolts and I easily remove the top portion of the mounts when not in use to prevent theft.

Re: My PCX150-White/Red

Both the mounts and 12V outlet were ordered in the US and delivered to an address there and then forwarded on to Thailand. The 12v outlet came from http://www.powerlet.com; here's what I ordered http://www.powerlet.com/product/cigarette-socket-panel-mount-kit-48/5. The 24" kit would work if mou...

Re: Not going to order the PCX because . . . . .

Can't blame you for the decision. Really clean looking bike, sure you will enjoy it as much or more than a PCX. Actually, I can see some of the PCX body lines in S-Wing.

Re: My PCX150-White/Red

Taz, The wheels are not stock. The change to the 13" vs 14" wheels is possible without any additional modifications to the bike. Wider wheels and tires, surely softer rubber compound on the road and more grip I hope. The ride seems to be a bit softer with the change in tires without any ne...

My PCX150-White/Red

Hello Everyone, Just another PCX150 from the "Land of PCXs" aka Thailand, I'm located in Chiang Mai to be precise. I have had the bike since mid-march and have made a few changes since then and have a few more minor ones to go before I'll be finished. I have nearly 3,000 kms with no issues...

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150

You would be surprised at just how many domestic activities you can farm out to local entrepreneurs; yard service, laundry pressing (no more ironing), weekly house cleaning, car wash and many others. The upside to this is the house boss is happy and I have more time to venture out on the PCX. Not a ...

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150

Things are a bit cheaper here in Thailand. I was in yesterday for my "recall" tire replacement, oil change and 2500K service. Total damage was 123 Thai Baht or about $ 3.92 USD.

Re: Honda Thailand recalls PCX 150

Fritz,

Thanks for posting the recall notice. My wife took a call from my dealer in Chiang Mai and my "relayed" message was I needed to take it in ASAP for something. Things tend to get lost in translation at times here in Thailand, nice to know he rest of the story..

Re: Updating the seat

Nice ride. Can you comment on the seat strength/integrity with the 2 seat pins removed? I have had my seat recovered minus the hump and plus additional padding but the pins are still, there and can be felt. How much does the seat flex if any due to the removal of the pins?

Thanks.
