Re: picking up new PCX tomorrow

Paul thought about the deal, was looking on the internet for 2 weeks, this one at the dealer caught my eye 840 miles with an aftermarket rack on the back and a aftermarket taller windshield, some on the web were salvage bikes and some with alot of miles, this one has a scratch on the side, can be e...

Re: picking up new PCX tomorrow

Ahh, a fellow Pennsyltuckian. Been through the wilkes-Barre area only once. Scenic for sure. Was on 81, so I didn't get down into the valley. Don't know anything about your dealer, but I do know they exist to make money, and this leads some to cut corners. Hope the scoot treats you as well as mine h...

Re: picking up new PCX tomorrow

The dipstick/oil filler cap is on the right side of the scooter at the back end of the engine, just forward of the muffler. No body panels need to be removed to get at it or to change the oil. It should have had a full service at 600 miles. If the oil does not look relatively fresh, I would not sign...

Yes...a Jimi Hendrix song, and a strain of cannabis. The Scoot is named after the song, not the plant.

Not a pothead, never touched the stuff, but the name seemed to fit, and I like the song...Hendrix was a musical genius.

"Anyone have any amusing or even cringe-worthy "short project" stories?" You have to promise not to laugh (too hard). I am not mechanically inclined and usually pay others to do such things--for good reason, as you will read. I did some accessory installation work on my ex-polic...

Re: PCX 125/150cc Sales in Cape Town?

You could try Craigslist or something similar...not sure if Craigslist is international or not...oop. looks like it is. Very cool. ..doesn't look like there's any PCX's for sale near there though. Yeah, tell me what is considered high mileage for these scooters, the 125cc model? And anything specif...

"Oh, this won't take long. It's just a quick project"

Went out to the scoot this morning to install some new LED's. Said to myself, oh, this will take five minutes, maybe ten. Two hours later and I was finally putting a lower body panel back on. HAH! Seems that's the way with "quick" projects. Anyone have any amusing or even cringe-worthy &qu...

Re: Stopped by Police on your PCX

I've not been stopped on the PCX yet, though I expect it may happen at some point. I was stopped while riding my Kymco People 150 about five years ago. The officer didn't like that I had a blue LED pod on the front of the fairing because it was facing forward. Turns out, there's nothing in the PA ve...

Windscreen is a good idea. The make-believe windscreen it comes with is not at all effective.

Also a good idea to add a rack to the back.

Re: Rain riding after dark

In fine misty rain my IRC's broke traction at less than 30kph when cornering. Not a good feeling. No problem in heavier rain, so maybe all tyres would have the same problem in those conditions. As I've only ridden on IRC's it's not really possible to make a comparison. My next tyres will most likel...

Holy snot that is expensive! I think I'll just survive without it. I'm guessing it would fit the 2013 pcx-150, but that's too much for something that is really just for looks.

Re: Rain riding after dark

I wonder why there are vast differences in peoples opinions of the same tyre - even in the same country with the same weather conditions, so should rule out manufacturing differences across the globe. Many hate the IRC and say they are lethal, others say they have no trouble with them in bad condit...
