Re: Versatility.
Unless you're replacing your car, you are not saving much money most likely. $3,500 delivered for a PCX buys a lot of gas. Don't forget to add in insurance for another vehicle and depreciation. Kinda like driving for an extra half hour across town to save a dollar on a grocery item. Scooters are a ...

Picked up some Yuengling Oktoberfest yesterday. Pretty decent stuff. Only big American brewery that produces s...

crash test? Really? it's more a test of what happens to a bike/scooter that gets hit when parked. Stupid...just utterly stupid. I echo your question, Why!?

Versatility.
That's the thing I love about scooters. They are versatile. I take mine to work, travel long distance, go camping, hunting, and fishing. It's a shame more Americans don't seem to realize there's so much one can do on two wheels the same as on four, and the fuel savings are tremendous. Granted, gas i...

Re: Riding tips for wet riding
Lead with the rear brake in slippery conditions, always use both brake levers. Absolutely do not use front only in the wet, it is completely the wrong thing to do. A locked rear wheel is far easier to recover from than a locked front. Ride to the road conditions, anticipate well in advance, ideally...

Re: Riding tips for wet riding
When it rains, especially at a new fall, Oil on the road surface gets supplanted by water, which it then floats upon. This makes the road more slick. Other fun things like leaves add to the excitement of when roads. The best recomendations are; take your time, don't overcompensate, make small adjust...

Re: Tire Pressure?
All fwd cars understeer, which is partly why nearly all cars are fwd. If both shoulders of each tyre are wearing its pressure related, if one shoulder is wearing on a fwd car the geometry is out. I prefer oversteer myself, but then, I know how to drive. :D Let's face it, the majority of drivers hav...

Re: Tire Pressure?
I keep my oversized scoot tires around the stock recommended psi 28-30 front 32-35 rear... fwd car tires i do 38 all around I have let out 3-4 pounds under the listed psi to get even better ride. If I ever buy better shocks I would pump it back up. Yeesh. I hear ya on the shocks. Did over 300 miles...

Re: tires
Personally, I like the Dunlop Stock tires, though I wouldn't mind something with less of a sportbike tread and more of an enduro tread...The tires on my Kymco had a semi-enduro tread. Those seemed to stick to anything.

Another entry about my trip. No camping this time, just 300+ miles in one day.

Re: Steering lock on - ignition key shunter closed problem
Kinda makes sense that it would snap closed when steering lock is engaged, but having to use both keys to get the steering lock off...well, that would be poor engineering.Alibally wrote:I was under the impression that shutter function is correct on the new model bikes.

Re: Tank bag.
OOh, that's nice Homie...I may have to adapt my old tank back at some point. For now I got a free pair of saddles that fit the scoot well. How are those free o_O they look real nice and with all ye gear on the rear you'd be getting a pretty good wheelie too. I asked the sales manager at Lancaster H...

I've used the X-grip mount for close to 1,000 miles now. Haven't seen the phone slip once. safety strap doesn't seem necessary.

Scooter camping
I've been away for a few days. Every year or two I take a long ride on whichever scooter or motorbike I have on hand and visit my mom. The last two years, I've taken along a single-person tent. I tell ya, the solitude is worthwhile. Blog post below if interested: http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2015...

I'm amazed that a Honda makes that much noise, and a 150 at that. Was doing some long distance travel the last two days and got to go through some tunnels. Makes almost as good a noise as my Jag.

hmmm...safety strap seems like a good idea..
I uploaded an HD version of the video. Main reason I didn't do that before is, Youtube used to have size limits on videos that were pretty restrictive...Didn't realize I could.
