Re: Deals Gap This Weekend (April 16)

Maddiedog, Welcome back to the fold! I am surely headed down to the gap at some point in 2017...I now have the extra time to take more than just a weekend there and back more time to explore those great roads! When I get some dates together, I will post them in this forum...hope to see you and maybe...

Re: Road trip, upstate ny

100 mpg,

Glad to hear it! I've taken a few shorter tours (100 miles) this year and two round-trips to Deal's Gap (800 miles) and I had a great time on all accounts.

PCX is a great bike and keeping off the Interstate makes the journey so much more interesting.

Ride safe!

Re: New PCX150 owner......love it...but need info please

Hasbro, Just a note, the link you listed for the body panels is for the earlier version PCX150 (see the seat hump?). They made the matte black for the 2015 and up models, but it will cost you another C-note to get them. I'd hate for you to get a set of panels that don't fit. Have fun kitting out you...

Fish,

I wish to hop on your bandwagon (the original pics, NC700/50? I might give it some time on that one...)

Made a return to Deal's Gap two weeks ago...Killbiy caught me (or was it one of the others?)

Anyhoo...these were 400 miles into a 793 mile weekend (yes, my butt was a little sore...)

Re: Pokémon GO & scootering

Thanks for the pic Homie (zooming into it to try to find your avatar hidden in there...just like Waldo!). Considering that my scoot is sticker-bombed in Star Trek, Mass Effect, and Firefly decals, I think I was already at least Deputy Mayor or at least on the city council of Dorkville. Happy Hunting...

Re: New PCX150 owner......love it...but need info please

If you get a sculpted seat of some sort, does it sit lower than the stock seat? I am 5'9" and while I can almost put my foot flat on the ground while stopped, (not really an issue), if the seat allowed me to sit a bit lower, that would kill some of the wind issue, right? I never measures eithe...

Re: Pokémon GO & scootering

Yeah, I drank the cool-aide here. I hunt the damned things on my morning bicycle ride, on my lunch walk at work, whenever I can. My morning commute has a new route that takes me down pokespot-laiden streets the re-up for supplies (I do come to a complete stop in parking places along the street - not...

Re: New PCX150 owner......love it...but need info please

Hasbro, I was in the exact same boat as yourself. The stock screen did not work for me in the least...I actually ordered the Honda tall screen while in negotiations for the bike. When I got the screen on, my chest felt a heck of a lot better, but my head was getting knocked all over the place. Ear p...

Re: 5000 mile service

I just did mine myself, changed the oil, tires and shocks (you can view the thread if you wish - http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6315 ). I did not do the gear oil or check the valves - I'll let my dealer mess with that at the 10K at the end of the season. Some may debate, but changing th...

Re: You tell me...

I'd suggest Deal's Gap (Tail of the Dragon) as well, but it looks like a two-day journey just to get you out there...so maybe not. For my money (and I know it's not), I have always wanted to do a 2-wheel tour of the Outer Banks. Seems like it would be around 300 miles to the area, which is a day. Wh...

Just when you thought it was safe to head south...

I'm heading back to the gap! Heding down this Saturday, just in time to sleep and turn around Sunday morning.

Anyone want to join along? Sorry about the late notice...

Re: DIY Shoes, Socks and Blood

Quick update. I went home over some dips in the road that used to bottom out the stock suspension and transmit the impact directly to my spine. Great news! I could certainly feel the imprefection in the road, but the suspension sucked it all in, which is great. you you - You are my Scooter MacGuyver...

DIY Shoes, Socks and Blood

First off, I want to give a HUGE "thank you" to the write-ups in the "how-to" section - could not have done it without you... [Begin the long part] I hit 5K miles last week, which just happened to coincide with the arrival of my YSS shocks from Bikerbits and a set of City Grips f...

Just an update, got it all back together and the noice was all gone...then another one came back...until I realized that I forgot to put the spacers on the windshield bolts...now all is well.

Whoops!

Re: MRA X-Creen

I have it, perched atop the Honda tall windscreen, which was not so tall after all. I like it, but in hindsight, I really could have just gone with one of the x-tra tall wingscreens in the first place...that thing and the Honda part were anything but cheap, but it is what it is. Long story short? Ye...

Chicaboo,

That is the exact model I have, mounted to one of the four bolts on the bar mount. Can't say enough good things about the item.

Good luck..I'll try to find a pic...
