The Edinburgh Commute.
I've been playing about with how to mount my SJCAM 4000 (poor man's Go-Pro) on the PXC. Tried the windscreen but far too much vibration. Next tried mounting it on the right wing which was OK but still quite a lot of vibration. Tried a helmet mount which was good, but I just felt a wally ! Last week ...

Re: So glad I went for the PCX 125 rather than the Vision 11
Interesting post as I swithered for a while between the Vision and the PCX. Also very glad I spent that bit extra and plumped for the PCX. I park beside a Vision most mornings and it looks tiny compared to my bike. Briefly considered a 3 wheeler as I have a full car licence, but the prices are crazy.

Re: What did you do for your scooter today?
Took a run up to central Edinburgh to meet my Daughter. Had a look over the bike when I got back, installed a motion sensitive alarm a few weeks ago but as it's under the seat the volume is too low. Going to have to mount it somewhere else.

Re: New to Scooters
It's worth looking at a product such as Scottoiler which can be sprayed on exposed metal (brakes not included obviously!!) and will help repel water and neutralise road salt. I intend to ride my PCX all year round (except for ice and snow) and I'm not anticipating any issues. Honda build quality is ...

Re: R.I.P Fonda
Very sorry to hear your news. I was in an accident a few years back when my youngest daughter was 12, gave her quite a fright so I packed scootering in for a few years until she was an adult herself. She's more understanding of the mad things I do now. Be warned this is a bug that will get under you...

Re: Tale of woe and some help needed please
I've used Mark 1 Motorcycles in Edinburgh before with a previous scoot. Friendly, fast and reasonably priced.

Re: Rain riding after dark
I'd read up a lot on the PCX before deciding to buy it. The only concern I had were the tyres which were critisised by some for their lack of grip in the wet. Living in Scotland riding in the wet is a year round possibility and although I've only had the bike a short time it has already been out on ...

Re: security
Thanks for the offer, it's a very fair price but probably more than I was looking to spend on a cover. I can get a new Aquatex for £30 on eBay, which although not as hi-tec as the Stormtex, would do me OK.
Thanks again, much appreciatec.

Hi, thanks for the offer. I know the Stormtex covers are pricey to buy new, what sort of money, inc postage (I presume you are in the UK) would you be looking for?

I've got a cover on although I'll need to look at something bigger as I fitted my Givi topbox on yesterday The cover I have won't fit if I leave the box on.

Re: security
I take one of the chains with me and leave the other two padlocked around the concrete building support I chain my bike too. I appreciate that some will say I'm risking the chains/padlocks being interfered with in my absence, however I check them each day and have a back up in the house if I see any...

Re: security
The main problem in Edinburgh is feral youth from the cities rough areas. They are not stealing the bikes to sell, but just to joyride and then destroy. It's sickening.

Re: security
Security is a big issue. I don't think it matters where you live, the skanks will find you. Last year I had a 50cc stolen from our residents car park. The dregs only rode it a few miles and then burnt it out. Impressively the police used DNA to catch the culprit but as he was legally a kid they woul...

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
Thanks, not familiar with Kryptonite locks but will check them out. A built in alarm is another good idea, I'm sure my technical skills would extend to that. What's the situation with power draw on the bikes battery. If I was to leave the bike parked up for several days with the alarm switched on (i...

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
Thanks. I don't have access to that kind of equipment so it's probably a non-starter.
You can get Abus alarmed disc locks with 5mm pins, but again the reviews suggest they are hyper sensitive which I just don't want.
Will just have to keep searching.
All the best.

Re: Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
Thanks, never thought of drilling the disc to allow for a bigger lock. Can I ask, did you drill 4 holes just for ease of use or is it to do with wheel or brake balance?
Thanks again
