Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

My local shop has the replacement pump in stock here in the Deep South of the US of A, so I dropped the Forza off today. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, so I probably won't have it back until Wednesday after work.

Here's hoping!

Re: Another 2014 - 2015 Forza Recall in US

I just got to the mail and found my Forza 300 recall notice, too. I'll call the local shop tomorrow, but I'm sure that the replacement part(s) isn't (aren't) available yet. SWMBO's main vehicle is a Honda Fit. It has three recalls on it, and we've been waiting for a few months for the new passenger ...

My 2014 is apparently not affected.

Well, it wasn't listed before, but it is now. And, as stated above, there is no fix yet.
Here's a screen shot of what I now find when I go to the recall page and enter my VIN.

Re: Woof! A warning!

For those who care, over the (very young) life of my Forza, the range per tank has been from 153 miles to 198 miles.

Just so you know.

Re: Trips..... and range..... and I've done it again.....

Here in the Old South at a very low elevation and a very high humidity, the gas mileage over the life of the bike gets me to 181.333 miles per tank. On a day-to-day and season-by-season procedure, what I do is zero out the trip meters at each gasoline fill-up, then watch the mpg meter (largest numbe...

Re: Woof! A warning!

You guys should get the 2016 model coz it doesn't have any key at all. LOL Not quite enough incentive, then there's the whole wash and dry in the pant pocket thing. Now when ABS comes to PCX that could send a lot of bikes to the trader. A combination of fatigue and middle-aged brain lead to the fol...

Re: Question about buying a Forza

I just came in after dropping 4000 ft down the Coquihalla and overtaking 30 wheel tractor trailers at 130 kph on a curving high bridge in the rain. Now that requires faith in the Forza holding together under stress. Or is it just plain ignorance on the rider's part. Sounds like a normal day at the ...

Re: Budget Helmet?

For the last few helmets I've bought, I trolled the sites that sell end-of-season / out-of-season items. I picked up my last Shoei flip lid for ~$150US. I do the same thing with my other gear. I look for the sites that are selling items that have been superseded by revised models. I get decent price...

Re: Lightweight cover and alarm

Oooo! I wish that color were available her in the US instead of the vibrant red that was my only choice. I bought a Cool Ass seat cover that I had to use a few times today; the sun is unbearable here in the Deep South, and that black seat gets horribly hot in no time flat. Also in the US, you might ...

Re: 300 forza oil loss out of dipstick

Cf. pp. 9-8 through 9-10 of the shop manual.

If I have to do anything about this, I will likely use a high-temp form-a-gasket compound.

I find myself thinking more and more in terms of cheap, non-OEM fixes on this scoot.

Re: How to attach cargo net to pillion?

I hook to the passenger grab rails and the luggage rack on top of the Givi bag. In fact, the only reason I got the optional luggage rack was to have top attachment points for the cargo web.

Re: Question about buying a Forza

I like the Malossis a lot. I no longer bottom out, and the adjuster on top makes it much more likely that I'll change the preload when the pillion is about to be occupied. My normal is now to have them set all the way to low when riding alone, and on the second notch when the wife is with me. I can'...

Value of a 2014 Forza according to local government

Today's mail brought me my annual property tax bill for the Forza. According to my county, the thing is still worth more than US$4K.

Here, I'll post a wildly inadvisable picture (look at "APPRAISED VALUE"):

Re: Mirror extensions

here was my solution that works extremely well and was dirt cheap What was is it? Fish He cut the mirror arms, cut a piece of aluminum tubing, slid both parts of the mirrors into the tubes, added epoxy and some paint. Note the ridge near the bend above where the mirror screws into its mounting hole...
