you you wrote: So that's a hundred miles a month? Three per day. $3 fuel well spent.

What is you opinion on shoes? Not as an alternative. Just your opinion.

Ponderously predictable.
The tw@t part would be "boring" though, not miserable.

Have a great day

Re: A few PCX questions from a newb - Tall riders?

Im 5'11", 34" inseam. With the hump, the seating is too cramped. Mine is a 125, I would never take it on the freeway. The other mods, why? Its a 150. Just my opinion, but unless you are one of those guys who likes to mod 50cc mopeds and stuff like that just to tinker, anything you put into...

Re: a really good reason not to have "choice words" with dri

Florida. The state that gets featured on COPS more than any other . . . Go figure. Autocentricity is the USA's religion. If you inconvenience a car driver it is their divine obligation to mete out retribution on-the-spot to nonbelievers. How dare you offend a car driver or disrupt their text!! If yo...

Re: Recommended & approved product links... revised

Those tire beads get a lot of positive comments. I've never seen stuff like that work before(ye daze of olde). Have any of you actually used them? If so, can you just dump them in the tire when you are changing them, or is there a specific order or ritual you need to undertake to get them to work pr...

Wow! A lot of PCX riders have BMW's too !

Here is mine:

As I mentioned, a great bike, just not for me. We are moving too, so the thought of dealing with 3 bikes complicates things. I want to pare down to one.

Re: Ongoing Forza saga, PT II

Thunderkat, just out of interest, which BMW do you have that the dealer wouldn't take? (I have a '99 R1100S.) Johnny Johnny it is a '94 R1100RS. It's in great shape and runs the same, but the dealers policy is no trades older than 2000. I had romantic visions of being 'that guy' you see in BMW foru...

Ongoing Forza saga, PT II

I finally got a chance to go check out a Forza at a dealership yesterday. I was hoping to finally seal the deal on a Forza, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. The dealer would not accept my BMW on trade. Like me, a little "too old". But, I digress . . . What surprised me was how small it was...

Re: PCX vs Piaggio Medley review, now on SLUK

U.K. Licensing laws are different from here in the U.S. We don't have a graduated licensing system, they do. In the UK, and a lot of other countries, <125cc is the beginner license level. From what I understand, there is an intermediate level and an expert level, but I don't know the specifics. Any...

Cool article.
So UK still gets the 125?? USA gets a 150?
Sort of weird. A little?

Re: Are You (or have you been) a Piaggio/Vespa Owner?

:ugeek: Im not a Piaggio owner, but Ive had two revelations after owning a BMW. Painfully, I have to come to the realization I am just not a motorcycle person anymore. Try as I may, I now prefer the utilitarian aspect of scooters over the perceived 'cool' factor of glitzy motorcycles. Also, and what...

Re: Come ride with me

I love River Road!!! Ridden it many times! We almost bought a haunted house on it in 2002. PA is a very under-appreciated state. Lots of very pretty/New England'ish roads when you go westerly from the coast. The last scooter I did River Road on was my Stella. A glorious experience!! Thank you ...

Re: Ephrata PA first Sunday ride-in

Every first Sunday there is a ride-in at the Ephrata American Legion post. I'm usually there. The next one is May 1st. Here is their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/EphrataFirstSundayMotorcycleRally/?ref=ts&fref=ts When I lived in PA, this was my favorite event. Never missed it! It was ...

Agreed.

I like to give myself (false?) comfort by thinking metallurgy has progressed enough to somewhat mitigate the horror of the evil juice

Re: Age old question - 87 or premium

After 42 years and lots of bikes, the theory behind the octane/premium stuff I don't disagree with, but what you are really getting is a crap-shoot. Ive had bikes run great on cheepo and sputter on 93. You never know what you are really getting. I just don't believe all gas stations are entirely hon...

Re: Forza + East Coast Mountains-- Extended climbing power ?

If Italians can ride wheezy old Vespas up and down alpine passes, you'll be fine on a modern Forza. Im gonna go ahead and do it I they give me a deal on my trades. Im not going to let a few-times-a-year-trip determine the outcome. But, wheezy vespas in alpine passes don't have caroming bigfoot truc...

Re: Forza + East Coast Mountains-- Extended climbing power ?

I don't know about your little mountains but I take mine up the Coquihalla Highway in BC all the time. I have no problem doing 65. Can't make 70. I go up to about 4000 feet and it is a long climb. I appreciate that. One of the roads I need to take to visit my relatives is through Mt Mitchell which ...

Forza + East Coast Mountains-- Extended climbing power ?

Hello PCX/Forza forum . . . Im most likely going to put an offer in on a Forza on Saturday. If you have ever taken your Forza through the Blue Ridge Mountains or Green Mountains in Vermont, how does it climb? Can it maintain 65 or so on the upside of those hills? Does it lose steam on extended climb...
