Re: Sizing helmets online

The helmet sizing is very very hit and miss, I had a Nolan but couldn't live with it. I have Shoie Multitech, which to me is the most comfy helmet I've had, HJC rub the back of my head something chronic, Caberg I can't even fit! I will add at this point that I wear two hearing aids and salso wear gl...

Re: Getting a PCX 125 on Saturday!

One thought from me regarding the bus lanes, but in a lot of cities now bikes are allowed to use the bus lanes. It should be clearly marked on the signage.

But all in all, just take your time and you'll be just fine. Enjoy :D

Re: Front Brake Failure - Temporary

ALL brakes will behave in this manner when they are overused and get over heated (Unless they are of the ceramic variety)

Planned long decents carefully and try not to keep pressure on brakes for the whole time, or as you did, make frequent stops. No easy answer really.

Re: About to buy a pcx 150 - couple questions

To me, there nothing wrong with seating position or the looks of the bike. yes a couple of guys at work took the piss, until I tols them how much mpg I was getting (112mpg to date) and that soon shut them up. Currently switching between my Deauville and the scooter now (My Deau has a new Tony Archer...

Re: Tucano Urbano Termoscud

My commute will be (I pick my new PCX up on Friday) 30 miles along quiet country lanes. I will be fitting one of these (with bar muffs) in time for winter. Can you tell me what the situatuation is once seated on the PCX please? How do you secure the cover while in the riding position, and have you ...

I would look at getting seat rescultured then. Others with more PCX experience than me could advise whether this would affect the safety cut out switch

Hello and welcome to this forum

Just ride as you normally would and don't thrash it, that's how I'm breaking mine in. Maddie has explained it pretty well to be honest

Re: Gear / Helmet discussion (split off from Ermax thread)

Given the freedom of choice, on my Deau, full textile gear fullstop. On my PCX I wear textile jacket (just bought a new lighter HELD jacket) ski trousers in the morning if the seat is damp. If dry I don't bother. I realise the chance I take, and my normal commute is only 3 miles in speed limited zon...

Re: a Bikers worst enemy..

I have the linked braking system on my Deau, so when I got the PCX I partly knew what was what with the combi system. As the PCX is considerably lighter, I find I now use a lot more of the left lever to brake with just a little of right (front) when coming to a stop. As others have said the braking ...

Re: a Bikers worst enemy..

Yes I'm profoundly deaf in both ears and try to wear them when wearing a helmet, as I do like to be aware of my surrounding sounds. Especially when someone wants to talk to me. My aids are digital. Firstly cut the back mic out (Background noise) then turn volume down. I wear a balaclava which help t...

Re: Riding with full beam on all the time.

Well I've done the test. Must have done around 350mls plus in bright sunshine with full beam on at all times except when it was obvious that I had been noticed (behind a car in slow traffic/cueing etc.). At no time did I ever get flashed, tooted or otherwise made to think the light was uncomfortabl...
