Re: Tyre puzzle - Lucky conclusion?

By feedback do you mean you can't feel how much grip you might have? Yeah, guess you could say that but not pushing anywhere near the limits that is for sure. Take it much easier in these sort of conditions (just above freezing) but just felt wooden on the front turning in - didn't give me any conf...

Re: Tyre puzzle - Lucky conclusion?

Was is the same position regarding wear but just flipped both tyres for Diablo's. Main reason was the front IRC just is not a cold weather tyre for me. No feedback at all from cold roads and hence no confidence in the front end. Diablo is better but certainly no M+S rated tyre.

My rear is well and truly finished at 4.5k. :( Front is not looking that good either. I must also be hard on the front.

PCXdemon, I can move this thread to "Performance" then remove the posts if Nobody consents. I am still staying out of moderation in the other forums unless I absolutely have to. We don't want this place to become communist Russia. ;) Nah, just leave it here as is doesn't worry me in the s...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

Hi, do the sliders affect top speed? From what I have seen, not a lot. Maybe just a couple extra km/h over stock. They are a quality product and on a lot of bikes give a decent increase, just not on my PCX. But they also last a lot longer as they do not square off like normal rollers so still recom...

Nobody this is how it should go with right weights in the vario.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig_tqwh85oM Cheers That is nice. Still thinking I may get a Takegawa variator at some stage...but not soon. Want to start playing around with a few more weights but bloody skint at the moment. May wait ...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

Think that with a stock CVT system Can you weigh your stock roller weights? I had read the stock weights were 15gm for the PCX125 but my 6 rollers from the PCX150 weigh 107gm. Almost 18gm each. Will have to see if I can find some scales at work and borrow them. Don't have anything for grams at home...

Re: Rode in DENSE fog today for first time....

Cold weather has hit here so I'm already getting fog a bit. I can recommend a Foggy Mask to help prevent fogging inside the face shield. My helmet doesn't support pinlocks which is a shame as they also work ok. http://www.respro.com/products/racing/off-road-racing/foggy_mask/ On the outside is a big...

Without testing can only guess Indeed. gn2's first rule of performance modification threads: plenty of noise, very little fact Spot on comment for most mod threads regarding the PCX. From all the searching I have done there is surprisingly very little Fact on performance mods for the PCX, mostly va...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

Think that with a stock CVT system you can get away with 11g sliders but they are already on the light side. No problem getting to top speed but rpm's up fairly high so an impact on economy. 12g sliders are probably the best bet with such a setup. But once you add an up-rated contra spring into the ...

Re: PCX fuel mileage

it sure is! done 70 miles and fuel bar says half way, i know it rapidly drops from there and this is still in the break-in stage The fuel gauge on the PCX must have been designed by the marketing department - pure guesswork. Only worth considering when on the last 3 bars. I just always reset the tr...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

. But in just a day of riding I can see several down sides to a super stiff contra spring. There is an obvious increase in the running losses in the belt. I think the increased compression on the sides of the belt, and the increased tension, are creating added friction and heat losses. The loaded h...

Re: New toys

gn2, any impressions on the City Grips yet now they are run in a bit? Notice any change or much the same as stock IRC's?

My rear is starting to get down so thinking either City Grips or Pirelli Diablo (10 bucks more).

Cheers.

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

Maybe this is the 1,500 rpm the rating is referring to. So lets get this straight, you don't even know the properties of the product you have purchased so how can you possibly asses what it's supposed to do? The "rpm" ratings on contra springs are basically misleading. The only reason I c...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

Cheers for the cleanup Maddiedog, this thread had gone a bit silly (almost given up on it). Only had the spring in for a few days so still letting everything settle in before I come to a final conclusion - but can feel the difference. Much better mid range roll-on acceleration, coming out of corners...

Re: Too tall to ride a pcx 150 without looking like a freak?

The important issue now is what colour? You know white ones go faster.
I would also suggest getting a screen, makes a difference at speed. There are several options out there so have a look for the threads on them.

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing

On your top speed runs is the bike hitting the rev limiter or just running out of power? What rpm? My 150 does 68 mph actual and is redlining at 9600 while doing it. . I would have had my spring on today but couldn't come up with a large enough socket in any of the stores near me. 38mm and 1 1/2 in...
