Re: How many miles do you expect out of your PCX?
I've asked the same question a few times - and keep getting different answers - which is probably not surprising because I don't think anyone really knows the answer. Mine is at 34,000km at present (after 30 months) - and engine remains as good as when I bought it. I change the oil every 4,000km and...

Re: Pampered Generation...
I think the kids today are a bit out of touch when the electricity goes out or they don't have the appropriate device to handle the chore. For example counting change in one's head seems to be a fading skill with the younger generation. No need to do math in the head when Texas Instruments, Casio, ...

Apparently not. You may not be aware that youyou probably has a lot more friends on this forum than you do. Your sense of humour bypass is showing. John, I wouldn't know, although I could certainly direct you to other posts where people have indicated a disapproval for some of his comments made. I'...

The story tells itself but don't look to electric vehicles to save us from the disposable engines and air pollution. To charge up millions of vehicles a day? It's not possible to deliver this kind of electricity grid on this planet... ever  California thinks they will be the first to go full e...

Re: Pampered Generation...
I am proud of my kids. Most have grown up knowing how to do things themselves. Hopefully their kids won't turn out to be a problem. I learned a lot when I was in the military. Some of my sons went into the military, and some of my grandsons are in the military now. Agreed. I initially tried to stee...

Re: 2016 Honda Forza 300 Starter Motor won't Start
For what it's worth - on the PCX - at some point I got into the habit of holding in the starter button and the starting the bike by pulling in the left brake. Not sure why, but it just seems easier to get the right tension on it.

I think it just depends on who you grow up with. I'm sure do it yourself parents have kids with better understanding of how to use hand tools. Gil I can't speak for all, but as a reasonably capable DIYer, my kids just get me to do it for them. It's generally faster that way too ... I'm just guessin...

And practicing emergency braking may save your life in a way a 10% performance difference probably wouldn't. If it's of any interest, there's a couple of internet resources regarding bike safety that might be of interest. One (a very good one) is run by Kevin Morris (a professional motorcycle instr...

Re: Strange sound from the vario
I faced the same dilema. In the end I just bought the whole driven face assembly; when freight was factored in it only cost a few dollars more - came with the correct grease & brearings - and I didn't have to worry about trying to get the old bearings out (which, if it's had a heat issue due to...

Re: Strange sound from the vario
Just to close this topic, now I am 99% sure that my problem is nothing but a (common pre LED Pcx problem) driven face bearing/s. I have also noticed that after longer ride (50km and more) there is a noticeably "grinding" sound from the clutch by turning the wheel on center stand. Once the...

Spoilt for choice for scenery in NZ, Wintery Bone is one of my favourites in there, That's the kind of view a good ride out rewards you with : ) I hitched around the south island with a friend seeing as many places as we could get to, by hook or by crook I think the saying goes. Made it to Queensto...
