It could buy 120,000 miles of fuel over here.

My service manual says 95°F or cooler. Which would be exactly in line with 2you's "not warm to the touch" since it would have to be higher than 98.6°F to be warm to the touch.

Re: why I wear a helmet ALWAYS

I'm in Texas, too. We're in the 90's weather now and it's only climbing, but that will not stop me from being ATGATT. I've seen riders with a passenger and they are both in shorts, short-sleeve/tank-top shirts, flip-flops, weaving around traffic at 85+mph on the freeway. All I can do is face-palm. I...

Re: Variator Tool

Thanks. Still waiting for the variator to show up. Once it arrives I'll install it and see how it goes. Hopefully it'll kind of balance out the lighter weights. If not, I'll just try some new weights; at least that part isn't really expensive, and I won't have to wait a month for them to show up.

I did try a strap wrench first but it always slipped. I could not find a way to make it not slip.

Re: Variator Tool

Thanks maddiedog. I went ahead and bought some rolled steel and built my own tool. It was cake to take off the variator set. I bought the NCY set but I have only received the drive face and the rollers; the variator is apparently still on the sea, so I probably won't see it for a few weeks. In the m...

Re: Variator Tool

Also can anyone comment on using the rope as a piston stop? How about the variator tool use on the NCY drive face which doesn't have the boss holes?

Re: Variator Tool

Wasn't there something about this tool's pegs being slightly too large? Or was that a tool from amazon?

Variator Tool

I'm ready to change my variator, but I'm stuck on the part of removing the drive nut. I see there's a special tool that goes into the holes on the drive face pulley to lock it, and some have posted shots of home-made tools. I have seen in other places the suggestion of locking the piston instead. Qu...

Gray is like a darkish white, you know, like the Batman version of white. So maybe it'll be just as fast!

Re: 2016 Honda PCX 150

Maybe they don't plan to ever change it. My service manual is for "'13" and "after '13" models. Maybe the next changed model will be called the PCY (or PCZ to avoid brand confusion).

Re: Took my first spill today

By flash flooding I didn't mean to imply fast-moving water. It just flooded extremely quickly due to inadequate drainage. The places with submerged vehicles were in road construction areas, so the drainage was probably even worse.

I put my helmet in the top box, which requires me to remove my keys from ignition to use another key to open the top box.

Re: Took my first spill today

We had some flash flooding a couple of days ago. Some cars ended up totally submerged near the freeway. I can't imagine what kind of traction my bike would have gotten in there.

Re: Did You Ever Win....Anything?

I have only won what was needed, when it was needed. As an example, we were short one week by $100 because we had an emergency for one of our dogs. I bought a lottery ticket for $1, which I paid for with change in my car's ashtray. I won exactly $100 with that lottery ticket. That has been the stor...
