Re: Hesitation/stutter off the line-the fix

I did the sand and deglaze three times. Each time it worked ok for a while. I have over 6K miles on the KVB-900 pads with no problems at all. I found out about it on a blog by a scooter shop in Thailand. Works for me. Just trying to help.

Re: Hesitation/stutter off the line-the fix

This is what is generally done when a scooter is taken to the shop with a bad shudder. However it does not solve the problem, only temporarily the symptoms. Several things can cause a shudder. Mine did it so bad, I was ready to roll it into a ditch, especially since the Elite 110 I had before had a ...

Re: High Oil Consumption. Options for Recondition or Repair.

Heavier oil will not cure the issue. If it is not leaking out, it is going past the rings or the vale guide seals. Does it smoke. If so is it worse after idling for while or while it is going down the road. Inspect the spark plug. If it looks normal, it is most likely the exhaust valve guide seal. I...

Re: PCX vibrating shuttering rattling Fix

My 2013 PCX150 shuddered to bad I was ready to roll it into a ditch and burn it. Then I found an article from someone in Indonesia that fixes the problem by installing friction shoes from an Elite 110 in place of the stock friction shoes. I tried it, and it pretty much cured the problem. They are a ...

Re: battery replacement interval

I just replaced mine. The 2013 stocker had had it. It lived on a battery tender when it wasn't being used. Charging system is in good condition. I'm not complaining. I think 5 years is acceptable.

Re: How-to convert 2013 to LED superbright headlight

I installed the bulbs yesterday. I had found another article where someone had used a similar bulb by 3D printing a asset of adapter sockets. I bought some of them. I will find the article and post a link. You order them online from the printer, and they got here in a few days. The sockets were desi...

Re: How-to convert 2013 to LED superbright headlight

I can't get the "how to install the LED lights" to work either. I bought a set of bulbs like in the article, and plan on doing the mod when I install a set of YSS PD valves this weekend. Can you repost it with a different link?

Re: Hot seat

I rode a Buell XB12s for years. A 600cc air cooled head crammed into the frame under the front of the seat, and a tiny little fan to blow the hot air under the seat. In stop and go traffic I would pour water on myself to keep the twins from roasting. Loved the bike otherwise. THAT is precisely why I...

Hot seat

The last remaining gripe I have with my 2013 PCX-150 is that the seat gets hot. Did it with the stock seat, does it with both aftermarket seats. Here is the scenario: Normally the seat is not hot.....but if I go a long distance and then sit at a traffic light, the seat gets hot, uncomfortably so. Yo...

Re: How-To: Completely Dismantle A PCX

This thread REALLY helped me yesterday. In June, I parked my scoot in the sun for a few hours. The heat from the sun warped the little Honda wing insignia in the speedometer like a potato chip. The speedo needle would hit the warped insignia and go no higher than 52 mph. It irritated me to no end. Y...

Update. 3 thousand miles later, I am all smiles. If your clutch chatters, do the KVB mod. It is working very well!!!

Re: Clutch Chatter No More ??

Rode mine some more over the weekend. I had purposely parked mine under the carport all week instead of in the garage so it would be exposed to outdoor air.

No Chatter!!! I am thrilled!!!! :D

Re: Clutch Chatter No More ??

I rode my scooter Saturday. it had been sitting for four days. I cranked it, let it idle for 45 seconds or so to let the oil pressure build up, and took off. Normally the clutch would chatter horribly after sitting that long. It took off smooth as glass, no hint of chatter. At this point, the mod wo...

Re: Clutch Chatter No More ??

I just did the KVB clutch pad mod while I had the drivetrain apart for the 10K mile service. My PCX has always had HORRIBLE clutch chatter. The Honda shop couldn't fix it. I had to hold the brakes and slip the clutch a lot to warm it up, and it still chattered SOME, even when warm. Thursday past I s...

I am at 10K miles. Clutch chatter is at times maddening. I bought new KVB pads, and a new driven pulley and belt. I am going to install them soon.

Re: Motor Oil Question

Owner's manual says 10w-30. Specifications say: JASO MB (which interestingly, no oil sold at my Honda dealer has the MB rating). OR: API (for us Norte Americanos) service SJ (which interestingly enough is an OLDER rating). I use Shell Rotella T5 in 10w-30, which is rated as API SM, which exceeds req...

Re: My exhaust is rusty. Ideas?

The ceramic coating I referred to is applied after prep and baked on in a kiln. It is applied as a wet mist, then baked. It is impervious to water and most everything else. I used it on my race bikes. The Turbo/alcohol KZ would have the header and turbo exhaust housing orange hot during a pass. The ...

Re: Dr pulley rollers

I put 200 more miles on it today. It is better than ever. Most of the time cruising along at 55 MPH. Got 98 MPG on the last fill up. That is as good as the mileage the Elite 110 got most of the time, but I rode it wide open everywhere.

Lovin' me some PCX 150.

Re: New owner - first mods and where to get parts in Austral

I'm quite surprised to hear VE mentioned in a scooter forum. Personally, I am happy with tractor-like bottom and midrange in a scooter.

Changing the variator weights will make a world of difference in how peppy and drivable it is. I used 13 gram Dr. Pulley sliders. I weigh about 160 pounds.
