Riding year-long and can't imagine it being the other way..

It's a true fortune to be a PCX enthusiast and to live down here in FL. Plus, El Nino this year was of great help. I would not have it any other way. However, as personal opportunities call elsewhere, I do realize that this experience might be short-lived, and the future me will envy the past me, in...

Re: Wind damage...

The OP is not even guilty of anything. No huge damage occurred and no one was injured because of this act of God scenario. Ethics can certainly kick in at a certain point (because it will make YOU feel better at the end to fess up to any wrongdoing). The important distinction to make here is that yo...

Re: Wind damage...

You always do what is most convenient for you at the time. Yes, it may be a good idea to be honest, but you run into the issue of the guy not believing your story anyway. Karma is best preserved by analyzing your options based on potential pay-offs, before committing to a course of action. All that ...

Showing up on PCX to new place of employment

Hey everyone. Hopefully, everyone is staying safe on the roads this summer. I had a close call last morning with a car making a turn and not seeing me (even with my hiviz stuff on--Illinois plates). Anyway, I am generally of the same attitude of, perhaps, most PCX riders: not really trying to impres...

That is horrible news. You really need to be paranoid in today's world in order to secure your belongings properly.

Re: How-To: Oil Change For Honda PCX

I own both corded and cordless impact guns… The corded Dewalt is obviously much more heavy duty and can pull a lug off a wheel at 100 foot pounds. Whereas the craftsman cordless one will not, but is great for tightening a lug. I think it all depends on how tight that 17 MM is for the oil screen. An...

Re: How-To: Oil Change For Honda PCX

Bravo starkdog24 just the input I needed to read. I'm a hater of that bolt! Honda fail! Too soft is Right!! So thanks for kicking in! ;) Now I have questions, :D 1) what is the difference between an impact driver, an impact wrench and an impact drill/driver? They are confusing me online when I look...

Re: Strange Noise (maybe from crankshaft area?)

The problem was a chain retention devise (or something like that); warranty got the $170 repair bill covered. Yay for me :D

Re: Make it Rain

I went down just this past weekend in rainy Florida weather. A thin strip of white painted lane got me as I was braking and preparing to make a right turn into a gas station. I had IRC on the front and City Grip on the back. Not sure if having City Grip on the front would have made a difference. Les...

Re: New security conscience PCX Owner

I carry around this under my seat: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001SM ... UTF8&psc=1
I am 220lbs myself. No issues with ride quality. 60 inches (1.5 meters) of chain is more than enough for me; can comfortably tie the PCX to any post/bicycle parking spot. :D

Re: Strange Noise (maybe from crankshaft area?)

To follow up, took the PCX to Honda today. They listened to the noise and said that something is seriously wrong is with the scoot. Will keep you posted on the end result..should be a while from now, as they are busy. The scoot will be staying at the dealership for several days.

Re: Strange Noise (maybe from crankshaft area?)

Aha, found the video on the forum. Seems like there was no resolution on this issue, great. Either way, I'll probably just keep on riding it and will take it to Honda for an evaluation this Friday (four days from now). Just as a matter of interest, will the dealer be open on Good Friday? In Oz just...

Strange Noise (maybe from crankshaft area?)

So, following the excitement that I was able to do my own 5000 mile maintenance, just over 100 miles ago, my PCX developed a strange noise that seemingly comes from the crankshaft area. It almost sounds like the normal noise level is greatly amplified, producing this obnoxious almost rattling sound....

Re: Valves Adjustment (stuck!)

The first panel I took off (lower right) had two plastic pieces fall off. The other ones were fine (learned from my mistake I guess). Valve clearances were amazingly perfect (in spec). I am not planning to see them for another 15000 miles (unless I hear engine knocking or see a dramatic MPG decrease...
