Re: Rapidly decreasing costs of owning a PCX

I think I qualify as most abusive. Of my roughly 10000 miles of ownership, probably 7000 were at full throttle. Of course, that probably contributed to my bad incident with my former J costa variator I mentioned months back. But I expected the variator to last longer than 4000 miles. I was wrong.

Re: What is your cage?

I have another cage to add to the family. It is a 98 Kia Sportage. The engine and transmission still run quite well. Everything else in it is a piece o' crap well-deserving of the reputation Kia had back in 98 when they were still barely on the US market. Oh well...I needed a cheap vehicle SUV based...

Re: Oil change short story

Unless your enine isn't runnin correctly and you are having loss of power than I wouldn't get the valve adjustment done either. It is quite expensive and can eliminate the fuel savings compared to driving a fuel-efficient car.

Pretty much the same thing in Florida. We used to have an emergency vehicle endoresment and small truck class (class D) but those have since been absorbed into the standard E class.

Re: gn2's picture/avatar...what is it?

Nowadays the latest kernel is 3.8 that is being shipped in the distros. It pretty much recognizes any hardware you plug in. I would say that Linux is great! Plenty of distros and desktop environments to choose from.

Not sure which is more unfathomable, your post or Pink Floyd
Lol, yeah, computer nerd stuff. It's a big ol' world outside of that Windows OS existence. It's good to have a $0 alternative.

Yep, I am a paramedic and a nurse. Didn't intend to go back to school (for nursing) but economic reality required me too. Nowadays I only work as a nurse.

Re: Road Tax = tax paid twice?

The government is (sadly) free to make up any tax they want, even if they call it by a different name, such as registration fee. You won't win anything by fighting the people who can make up the rules as they go along.

Re: Cable or Satellite for Best Customer satisfaction?

I get internet form Earthlink, which Brighthouse services anyway. The difference is 50% off buying internet directly from Brighthouse! I got Dish network for my "cable." I have been happy with the $25 month simple package ($34 after local taxes). I had a couple billing gaffes last year wit...

Re: How long you been riding?

Started with a Honda Elite 110 in June 2011. Got the PCX 125 in Dec 2011. Got the Silverwing around fall of 2012. Got the Silverwing up for sale now. I am 30 years old as of now. I would like to get something more mid-size. Hopefully we in the USA are next for the Forza. It's already out in Canada.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

Yea bad luck i guess,i never really fancied J Costa at those prices...But still what other damage did the scoot sustain from the vario bar the vario it self? Hardly justifies saying its worth upgrading to 150cc and be extra what $2000?!! out of pocket than trying one of the more conventional afterm...

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

What damage happened? Maybe incorrect installation?! Its a first ever ive heard variator damage on the Pcx and i would know, ive tried several aftermarket varios (and they did improve performance, some considerably) with no problems to report after 10000miles so far... Anyway what do you think you wo...

To me, for the smaller bikes you just can't do better than the PCX, in terms of quality and power.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

Variator or gear up is waaaay cheaper than upgrading to a 150.... Not with the damage it caused to my bike after 5000 miles... (but the J Costa did at least work for me, as I posted video on it before) Anyway, hopefully if maddiedog does indeed bore the pcx I am looking forward to seeing the result...

I would say no. Most of the air will strike the screen. Sometimes this will cause a slight feeling of instability at higher speeds.

If you run the PCX hard at > 50mph consistently you will still get at least 70 mpg. Not too shabby.
