Average mpg

Having just changed my PCX 2012 to a 2018 model I was interested to see if the fuel consumption was any different. Over a seven year period, I averaged 125 mpg on the early one and after three fuel ups on the latest model It shows an average of 150 mpg. I find this hard to believe and as the latest ...

Re: Screen replacement

Managed to get the cowling off with a struggle, so complicated and unnecessary. Now I find the screen I bought (£50) needs a kit comprising of two brackets which compensate for the top holes which are not in line with the screen and original holes, this cost is half the screen again(£25) You can ‘t ...

Screen replacement

I am trying to put a Givi screen on my 2018 pcx. I have done it on the 2012 model I had, but am having trouble with this one. I have removed the two screws from under the front of the present screen but it is still very firm. I have looked at other instructions in this forum and they seem to say pul...

Re: Vibrating engine.

There are plenty of answers to this question on the “how to page” I should have looked there first. Seems it is a common problem.

Vibrating engine.

I recently changed my 2012 PCX for a 2018 model. When I took it for the first ride I found that the bike vibrated when starting from stationary, it was almost a juddering and only lasted momentarily until the revs increased. My old bike never did this and was so smooth on take off. Has anyone else e...

Re: Centre stand trouble.

After receiving instructions on how to disconnect the ECM. (Difficult, numerous panels to be removed etc,) I have decided not to proceed with the repair. I agree the repair may fail and even more damage may result.

Re: Centre stand trouble.

Found a firm who are willing to TIG weld the broken lug. Before doing so he has asked me to contact Honda to se if it would have any effect on the electrics or any module,as he puts it, if the work was done in situ. I will do this but wondered if any poster here has any views or experience on this?...

You should be able to pm because I think it is 15 posts that you need and you have passed that.
Thank you for that. Yes I have sent a pm. Not doing it correctly the first time.

Re: Centre stand trouble.

Just reading an old post. Pcxdemon has replaced his ECM, so if he is reading this, perhaps he could be of help. I am a new mwmber and not sure if I can pm others yet. I will be taking the bike to the welder so I hope the disconnection of the ECM is simple to get at. I suspect it is somewhere near in...

Re: Centre stand trouble.

Some help from a local Honda dealer was to disconnect the battery and the ECM. Asking more he did not know how to disconnect the ECM and thought the ECM was the Electronic control Module. I have searched and think it is the Engine control Module. Does anybody know where it is located, and how do I d...

Re: Centre stand trouble.

newstand4.jpg Having de greased the area, it is much more serious than I thought. From a hairline crack, which was my first impression. I find the crack is in two seperate places, with a part of the casing holding the stand in place, floating around only being held in there because it is more than ...

Re: Centre stand trouble.

Thank's mine is an original then. Just had a closer look and there is a slight trace of oil near the drain plug bolt. I hope it is just a new washer that is needed on the plug bolt. There is no oil near the centre stand casing crack. I will just leave the stand where it is and try and avoid using th...

Re: Centre stand trouble.

Definetely a crack, just in the lower part of the hole forming the pivot for the stand. No leaks. I am sure the case is not affected. I thought of just continuing to use the stand until it broke. I never though it might affect the casing, I just assumed that when it broke it would just make the stan...

Centre stand trouble.

I had reason to remove the rear wheel on my PCX. It was possible for me to examine the centre stand mount. Sure enough the casing was cracked where the stand pivots. I assume there is no way to repair this because of the material. Should I just use the side stand in future? I have always preferred t...

Re: Paint job

http://www.zumaforums.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=20367 ^old post of mine... Interesting thank you. Just a point. Would it help if the panels were put flat to avoid runs? I am sure hanging verticle will encourage the paint to run downwards no matter how thin you apply it. I also appreciate ...
