New models OR i'm just out of touch...

Honda seem to have so many scooter models now! Surprised to see a Forza 125, the 300 must be selling well and the revised for 2016 SH300i, still ugly as sin. I've had my little PCX for 5 years now, its covered just shy of 9000 miles. Time for a change? I suspect its worth not very much :-( What have...

Re: PCX battery charging -

Given that a replacement battery can be had for under £20 why worry? This is a fair point, I didn't realise they were so cost effective. First time my battery went I had it replaced under warranty. The second time the dealer fleeced me of £50 for the pleasure. Just saw a Lucas uprated battery for £...

Re: PCX battery charging -

Batteries that are completely flat and stay that way for a few days , are permanently damaged, sometime in the future, it will prematurely fail. Yes this is a worry for me as I alway leave home bang on time to get to work, relying on my scooter to start on the button every time. The ctek unit I've ...

Given that the thing is designed specifically for urban use then yes, you would expect it to be able to maintain a full charge in urban use.
One would think but not in my case.

Re: PCX battery charging -

Never assume. The battery may well be fine. My PCX sat unused outdoors uncovered in winter for similar periods of time and it always started without any problem. Just out of interest, IF the battery is fine, will normal city use charge it up fully, or would I need to get it a quick blast on an A-ro...

PCX battery charging -

Hello, I've been away for the past four months and return home next week. No doubt my scooter battery will be flat... same for the car. I am considering getting a CTEK charger. I presume a model that offers motorcycle/ scooter charging + car battery charging will work? Does anyone have experience wi...

Re: UK insurance -

Thanks for all the replies. I'm getting sensible quotes now from Devitts. £93 TPFT. I have four years no claims on the scoot. 2000 miles including commuting. No lock declared. Garage parked.

Re: UK insurance -

Interesting question... Devitts ask the following question, under the rubric of 'riding history': "Have you or any additional riders been involved in any accidents, claims or losses (including fire, theft or vandalism), irrespective of blame and whether a claim was made or not, or had any motor...

Re: UK insurance -

Hi. I have 20+ yr's no claims car bonus and my first time on 2 wheels on the road was just over a year ago (only CBT not full). TPFT at that point was £358 with £200 excess. This year TPFT cheapest prices were from £180 to well over £300 with excess. I went for TP only for £117 no excess figuring t...

PCX fuel quality

I realise this has been talked about previously however yesterday whilst in a rush I filled up with premium fuel by mistake, at £1.45 per litre is wasn't too expensive but I'm now convinced the engine is running smoother. The mirrors I noticed some months back were vibrating more than usual, service...
