Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences
I'm about to pick up my pcx150 tomorrow from someone on craiglist who is 3 hours away. I was wondering what people use to hold their phone. And how to charge it? I think I saw a USB charger in one of the pictures and an iphone mount. And a clock. What kind and how to mount? Congrats! I use a RAM mo...

Yes, but this has been put on the back burner again, as I'm getting prepared for my next trip. Will be even longer --perhaps a world-record for the PCX...?cessna151 wrote: Are you still working on this?

Re: what is the best way to shade your eyes?
Two words: ELECTRICAL TAPE. I put a strip of electrical tape across the top of my visor. When I'm riding into a low sun, I tilt my head down slightly so the strip covers the sun, but I'm still able to see the road. Some manufacturers sells similar dark strips (basically a tinted band) but I have fou...

Anymore on this story, it's going a bit cold Bear with me --I have been swamped with things, and slowly getting back to this write-up. I'm in the process of setting up a website to document the trip, where I can tell a coherent story, rather post it in haphazard segments. I'm also trying to retrace...

pozo just to say I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread, if you post up more pictures or text anywhere else do let us know, I'd love to see them - you take great photos, what camera did you take? SLR kit takes up quite a bit of space so wondering if I can just take one lens on trips... Thanks! For thi...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences
Touring on slab with a huge bike is dull. You get the most scenery, personality, and experience from the country on backroads on a scooter. Well said. I have toured on big bikes and keep coming back to smaller displacement engines for the ultimate fun. They force one to slow down and enjoy the ride...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences
I started to draw out an approximate route on Google Maps and will post it shortly. I'd like to see that! Particularly where you crossed the Mississippi river on the return trip. Crossing around St. Louis seems fairly intimidating to me on such a bike. Crossed St. Louis along US 50, but don't remem...

That is brilliant. Was that your first long-haul trip? Also, how did you find the Numi overall? I'm looking at Garmins myself, an they say the zumo is better built for motorcycle use, being made for the elements, better touch screens, etc. but man, are they way pricier than the Numi's! Thanks, this...

I have tested the PCX 125 speedo against a Garmin GPS in various conditions, and it is always dead on (at most +/- 1 mph). This is better than some of speedos on stock police bikes...

Great adventure, BRAVO! Did you need to pull to the shoulder of the road to let faster traffic pass? Thanks for sharing this. Thanks! To answer your question about pulling over: surprisingly, not really! Most of the trip was through back roads in rural areas, with often no sight of cars within mile...

Hi Pozo, that is one amazing endurance trip. I am across the other side of the world in NZ, just got my PCX for commuting and have wondered what it would be like for touring. Crossing the Continental Divide in Colorado on the PCX... At just a little over 11K feet, the programmed fuel-injection worked great! (Other carburated bikes were choking at these altitudes.) Sure, the steep climb reduced the speed to the mid 30's and even 25mph at a couple of spots, but I was also ...
