Re: NM4

I hear all that's said but in my book when style is 1st priority and practicality a very distant 2nd, it's just a fishing trip on Hondas part. I understand they have sold 2 in all of Canada and about 10 in US. Although that's not from Honda themselves it was an authorised dealer that told me. There ...

Re: Accommodation on trips

WhiteNoise - I bought a disk lock with alarm when I bought the Forza. It's still in the packet untouched! I like your thinking though in general and want to be on the road early and spending some time in later afternoon/evening to enjoy a destination, not freaking out late in the day worrying about ...

Re: Accommodation on trips

Thanks SECoda - my preference is to not wing it as I have ran into trouble doing that. Once on the way home to Toronto from Virginia I thought I would stop after 12 hours driving around Erie not far from Cleveland only to find the Erie fair on. Then it was an extra 4 hours and almost midnight before...

Re: Accommodation on trips

I've read on other forums, that members stay at a hotel/motel and ask for a first (bottom) floor room set away from the office & towards the side or back of the building. That way, they can roll their bike inside in the dark of evening. You can get a good nights sleep that way ;) "Don't Wo...

Accommodation on trips

Have a few longer trips in mind this year which I have not done on two wheels before. Does anyone have any thoughts on hotels/motels on the road. Do you travel and just wing it picking something on the road? Do you book ahead or perhaps get on hotels.com at some point on the road? Any particular hot...

Re: Number plates

Do they use those plate shields like they do here for the speeding cameras? You can see the plate just fine but it blanks out for the camera. Almost like the folks up here in Toronto who "age" their plates with I guess some kind of acid/stripper liquid so they don't get caught by the came...

Re: You Can't Beat Fun Like This

SECODA - have you ever seen a TV show Ice Pilots NWT? It is Canadian but I suspect it shows down south on something like the History channel. Awesome show and I am sure you would like it.

Re: You Can't Beat Fun Like This

High cross-wind landings are actually fun for the experienced pilots. I always enjoy them as long as it is just strong wind and not real gusty. It freaks the passengers out a bit so it is the most fun alone. (this video happened yesterday) This is much safer than being on a bike at high speed in he...

Re: Number plates

A follow up question. Why do so many in this forum not state the place they are from as in city and in some cases city and country instead of a cryptic description? It's not wrong as such but I promise not to turn up and drink your beer if you at least put a city or town!

Re: NC750x DCT

The NC750X claims great mileage and there is an offset to that - you have to drive so carefully and for many, it's simply boring. I would likely be in sport mode most of the time. Would be interesting to find out the mileage difference between drive and sport over sustained periods.
