Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
Wouldn't worry the pcx has a modern day engine, they don't really need running in as such any more. I wouldn't keep it full throttle for hours at a time quiet yet but after a few 100 miles u can ride it how u like and it will be fine until you run out of fuel. The pcx has a rather low Rev limiter it...

Re: cbs at pcx 125, 2010
Look at it this way, on ANY car or bike the back break isn't strictly needed. There should never be a time where you need to use your back break more than your front, never! Cbs purely makes life easier... If your front wheel looks up, you pump the break quickly it's a skill to be learnt. Go and loo...

Re: Seized Engine
strange, you wouldn't expect the engine to be so clean if was burning oil. The picture i put up is what a spark plug would look like if it was burning oil, looking at your pictures before the incident your engine seemed to be running really well with good valve colour and minimum carbon build up. no...

Re: Seized Engine
if your engine was burning enough oil to suck your sump dry between services, you spark plug would look like this.

Re: Seized Engine
I also noticed you was on a motorway when the engine let go, if it was burning oil, the head would heavy with carbon, and the plug would not look like that, but be heavily fouled.

Re: Seized Engine
That doesn't look like its been burning oil at all. With a. Spark plug that clean and such a clean head for 20k miles. Might be an idea to check your cooling system, a major over heat would also cause something along these lines, especially if it kept running over and over again whilst overheating. ...

I know Bridgestone battlax tyres are known to many as one of the best tyres out there for 'bigger' bikes, was hoping to find a review of them on a pcx but seems they are a lot newer than I first thought!

Re: Motor Oil Question
5w50 / 10w30 / 10w40 take your pick.. all of them will be fine for you climate. Honda recommends 10w30 BUT most Honda dealers in the UK (not sure about the US) almost always use 10w40! As i found out when a phoned Honda HQ (uk) after i thought my Dealer made a mistake. Nearly ANY motor oil with be f...

Re: Over 10000 miles, what to do?
Either way, you want to make changing your oil often a habit. Like I said you can not change your oil too much! It's cheap and takes 10 minutes.
Check your air filter often. Especially if you live in a dusty environment.
