Re: New speaker

Tempted to order one at this price. Some of the reviews, though, mention that the FM radio reception stinks.

That's probably mainly what I'd use. Maybe someone makes a small device like this that is just an Fm radio...

Seems like a really good price if you want BT.

Re: tmax

The more I think about it, for $11,000 I would buy a really nice used Burgman 400 or Forza, AND a clean Honda ST 1100 or BMW R1150RT or Honda NT700V, AND a pristine used PCX150. Substitute a KLR650 into any one of those three slots depending on your riding needs. But you could easily have a very cle...

Yeah, the riding position looks, um, sub-optimal, shall we say.

Re: 155cc = 84 MPH?!~!

I'm sure the SMAX is a nice scooter. It has slightly more horsepower than a PCX. It's also a bit heavier. Wheels are smaller, I think, on an SMAX, which would be a minus in my book. From what I've read, it seems that the SMAX can do 5-10 mph more than a typical PCX can on the highway. If it can inde...

Re: Monetization

I almost answered - not at all -.... Until I remembered the annoying ones I find on other sites. Super annoying auto play videos. Ads I can't scroll past or that pop up until time elapses. The audio ads are horrible. Someone starts yelling at you through your speakers. Small banner under the header ...

Useful for motorcycles where you don't want bags to damage paintwork. Various manufacturers, here is one example. Many different width / lengths on the market. http://www.amazon.com/Scotchgard-Clear-Paint-Protection--60-inches/dp/B004VG8DS0/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1433662395&...

Wanted to add this but could no longer edit. DR200SE is only 278 pounds. Never mind, though. Get an SR400 so I can live vicariously through you. I think they are gorgeous. I've seen them on Cycle Trader in the $4k to $4500 range, new. http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/news/2015-yamaha-sr400-mak...

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

There aren't hard and fast rules as to m/c categories. At least in the U.S., when you say cruiser you'll get people thinking laid back Harley style bikes with higher bars, and when you say standard you'll have people assuming you mean a more upright riding style, feet under your butt not stretched o...

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

No opinion on the TU250? Its far less practical than any scooter. But a decent commuter hack nonetheless. I believe the motor is made for Suzuki by Jinan Qingqi in China, they also manufacture whole bikes which are sold here as Sinnis, Lexmoto, Pulse and HMC brands. http://www.motorcyclesupermarket...

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

Great idea on the Kymco 300. I've never seen a new one in the wild, let alone a used one. Quite rare, sadly. One of the physicians I work with told me she used to practice in Honolulu. She said scooter theft is a big problem there. A smaller traditional cycle might be more of a theft deterrent due t...

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

A CB300F would be a bike I'd take a hard look at if I wanted a smaller, but not too small, all rounder bike. A beater bike that is fairly fun, has some character, and is underrated in my opinion is a used Buell Blast. You can pick them up for stupid cheap money and they are easy to work on. Belt dri...

Re: Riding 2013 Pcx over weight limit

You're running roughly 20% over the max weight limit the PCX is safely designed to carry. Doing that is probably not going to result in the planet's imminent destruction, but it's a significant percentage beyond the design limits. Let's assume that the Honda engineers built in a 20% fudge factor, an...

The only reason I'd see for using premium fuel if the manual calls for regular would be that premium in my area is typically ethanol-free.

Re: Hit a pothole, handlebars look slightly off center. Help

I'm continually amazed at how cheap replacement parts are for the PCX. Most full size bikes, you'd never see a fork available for a hundred bucks. Used PCX forks show up pretty often on eBay. I'd check there if you wanted to save some coin. I looked a few minutes ago for you and there were several ...

Re: Anyone have NCY front forks?

I'd tend to agree with gn2 here. I'm doubtful that the aftermarket forks would be significantly stronger vs. impact bending than stock. They might look fancier, feature stiffer springs or more aggressive valving. But I doubt that the inner tube part that tends to bend is that much sturdier than OE. ...

Re: Hit a pothole, handlebars look slightly off center. Help

The forks are $103.73/ea, the steering stem is $210.18 by itself and another $6X.XX for the seals and bearings - which I'm sure are shot if the stem turns out to be bad. I'm continually amazed at how cheap replacement parts are for the PCX. Most full size bikes, you'd never see a fork available for...

Re: Stop n Go Tire Fix

I've never had to plug a cycle tire before, but have done a fair number of such repairs on car tires. I've never had one fail. Obviously, I'd be a little more concerned about plug quality on a bike versus a car, as the consequences of failure are greater. Purely anecdotal, but I've heard the Dynaplu...

Re: Took my first spill today

Perhaps I should buy some 2013 panels now before they become harder to find and more expensive. The plastic will probably stay roughly at the same price level (with nominal yearly increases) until one day the inventory is just gone. Honda is really good about long term parts availability, in genera...
