Re: Security
Cheers. Doubt I'll be carrying it with me so I'll probably go for the 19mm then.

Re: Security
Well, I've bought a xena xx6 (I think) disc lock and a hefty padlock. Still need to choose a chain and ground anchor. Guessing pragmasis and almax are fairly equal, but does anyone know what size chain fits (or doesn't! ) through the pcx wheels? I'll probably need to buy the actual pcx too at some p...

Re: Security
Thanks all. Was hoping I wouldn't have to carry a chain with me because I wanted a pretty hefty one for home, and I'll be adding enough weight to the pcx myself! Probably do need something to stop it being carried off though. I've seen disc locks with a cord that attaches to the handlebar - hadn't r...

Re: Security
Ta. I'll definitely get the disc lock then. I suppose as long as the alarm doesn't go off for no reason it's worth having.
I'll stick with that for out and about and try not to worry. You're right about the insurance!
I'll stick a cover on my shopping list and look into the forensic liquid stuff.

Ok, so I haven't even got my pcx yet, but I'm thinking ahead to keeping it secure. At home, I have a garage, but with a broken door, and it's pretty much full anyway, so the pcx will have to live on the driveway. I'm thinking I'll need some kind of ground anchor and a decent chain. I like the look o...

Re: A tragic reminder for us all... Warning : Graphic conten
Sorry. Wasn't having a go. I re-read my post and it may have come across that way. As a non-rider (soon to change) I probably took a different interpretation of the video. In a way, not apologizing for or highlighting the general recklessness makes it a more effective message, albeit at the risk of ...

Re: A tragic reminder for us all... Warning : Graphic conten
To be fair, I think it's quite brave to allow the video to be used as a warning. She'd come off quite harsh if she was slating her recently deceased son for speeding etc. But it's clear to see that's the case in the video and the fact is a lot of people ride/drive at those speeds occasionally. Hopef...

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
Ta. So it's a faster metal spinny thing than the standard metal spinny thing? I'm getting the hang of this scooter stuff already!

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
I have no idea what a variator is but that sounds good! I'll have to look into it. Guessing it might be the type of thing to do once it's out of warranty? Any downsides to it?

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
Thanks all, that pretty much settles it. PCX it is!
I'll see how I get on with the seat. Should only be on it for half an hour or so at a time mostly so might be ok how it is.
Now I've made my mind up, I've got a couple more questions but I'll ask them in new threads so I'm not confusing things.

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
Thanks, it sounded like the seat hump was going to be a problem for me, but then found out the new one doesn't have it, so I can sit a bit further back although there's a definite indentation in the seat so I might not be able to move back too much.

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
I was interested in the SHi125 (2013 version with same engine as PCX - Esp) but it is higher up so some people cannot place their feet comfortably on the floor and internal storage is not that great - but it comes with the back-box included. Having the back box would be another plus point - the S-W...

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
I ride my PCX 125 daily for work here in the UK, mostly up and down hill, runs fine and hapily pulls 45-50 uphill with me (6ft2 and about 13st) acelleration is ample to pull away from cars unless they expect that's what you'll do and then they quickly overtake you! lol Aha, so the acceleration shou...

Re: Potential Newbie - with questions!
Thanks. To be honest I hadn't considered the SH (based purely on looks) but I'll read up on it. Think I'd like ABS!
So is rhe S-wing just bigger and comfier, but not necessarily faster?

Re: pcx is now no more
Hope it all heals up soon.
I've got a scar too from a 'bike crash' (fell off a mountain bike!) - I just have to change the subject as soon as they ask what cc it was.
I'm still thinking about getting a scooter - my wife says it's too dangerous, so I won't be showing her this thread!

Potential Newbie - with questions!
Hi all, I've been reading up on the PCX for a while, but still have a few questions I can't seem to find answers to, so I was hoping somebody here may be able to help?! :D .. I've been considering getting a PCX for commuting since realising that the current finance offer (in the UK) is the same amou...
