Re: running great - then engine just died -

This was a really good discussion, thanks everyone especially GeeGuss. Makes me just want to leave my slower 2015 pcx stock. Maybe 62 or 63 is fast enough. Got almost 2500 miles on it now.
DIYers, was any valve lash adjustment needed at 2500?

Re: 2016 PCX

Too bad that they are not offering a 150cc version of the Forza 125 in the USA. It seems to have lots of good features: adjustable windshield, 4 valve head, and higher top speed. It is heavier though.

2016 PCX

I read that the 2016 PCX is now out. I am curious if they stuck with the lower gearing of the 2015 versus the 2013 or possibly when back to faster high speeds. I bought the shop manual (just contemplating if I want to try the 2500 mile valve check myself) and it typically give one procedure for the ...

Re: anyone know the result of 125 variator on a 2015

I think Scooterman put the NCY variator (as I recall for the 125) on his 2015 PCX, so it is my understanding that they will fit.

Re: Stock Tire mileage

I used to ride a Honda cx500 that a dealer replaced the rear tire in the wrong direction. They had markings as to which was forwards on the tire. Anyway the thing had incredible grip going forward. I could pop a wheely no problem on wet pavement. However even that tire would slip on a wet painted st...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I might have to try the NCY variator upgrade. I was noting the angle of the stock windscreen, if you can call it a screen. It should direct the wind up over most riders. From long ago experiance it likely would if you could get enough speed out of the bike. Way back with my first bike, a Honda cb350...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I should add, about my trip to Spanish Fort, and freeway travel, that visability was very good weather wise, and that I wore abright yellow modular helmet, and a very bright (almost glow in the dark) yellow sweat shirt, to both be seen and to protect my old skin from sun damage. I feel sure that car...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Not all that much for me Branyers. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 196 lbs. But the main factor in being comfortable or not is that I am also 73 years old and just are not comfortable staying in one position for long periods of time. I found that I was able to periodically sit on the front of the p...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Went on about a 260 mile ride yesterday on my unmodified 2015 pcx 150. On the way there (Spanish Fort, TX), I took mostly secondary highways, got lost a couple times, stopped for lunch etc. However by the time I got there it was already after 3pm and the grandkids baseball game was at least 2 hours ...

Re: ? for PCX150 owners

I have a stock 2015 pcx that is geared a little lower than the 2013s are. I have no trouble getting to or sraying at 60 mph, but the bike hits the limiter at about 63 to 64 mph unless you're drafting a car or truck. I too like to cruse at about 60 and don't have any trouble so doing unless there is ...

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

I've been looking at a used Yamaha Majesty. They have a good reputation and are said to do 90mph or more. I don't think Yamaha is offering them this year. What I like is that they have over 30 hp and the valves only need to be checked every 24k miles, so about 10 time less than the PCX. the down sid...

Re: Michelin tire installed, bench & review

Thanks guys, this has been an interesting blog. Guess I might have to get the NCY variator assembly if I wish to drive highways at less than WOT. About 10 mph more eh? I'd rather go 60 mph at 8K than at 9.6K rpm. Other mods I can't see just now.
Y'all are very helpful with these posts.

Re: todays oil change..

The two dealers here within 10 miles, don't even stock the recommended oil (Pro Honda 10w30 MB rated) they do carry it in 10w40 grade. It is a synthetic blend, from what I have read. The manual for the 2015 PCX 150 does say to use "motorcycle" oil. The only motorcycle oil I saw at Walmart ...

Re: For your consideration

The weather cleared, so I took my unmodified 2015 PCX for a ride. Took mostly highway 5 north to Sherman, turned around and stayed on the 55 mph frontage road to US highway 75, while its' posted speed limot was 75 mph. However, after about 20 or so miles, there was road construction on the frontage ...

Re: For your consideration

the 2015 pcx has no trouble at all hitting the limiter at 63 or so mph. My 1970 model cb350 had a red line of 10,500, which it would not reach on level ground at top speed. That is how I would think it should be. With Max safe load, it should be geared to not quite reach max rpm on level ground. clo...

Re: For your consideration

I bought the 2015 pcx 150, US version expecting it to go 70 mph for short bursts, and to cruse easily at 60 mph. What I got was a peppy, in town scooter that hits the rev limiter at 63 to 64 mph, which is a bit scary when mixing it up with cars and trucks on our Dallas area freeways driving at typic...
