Re: Motorcycle Clubs

This is the Ride For Kids website, they have rides all over. http://www.curethekids.org/events/ride-for-kids/ Yes, the money raised is pretty much as you figured. We each paid an entrance fee to go on the ride (not required but really...), that all goes to charity. In addition, I was lucky enough t...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

Well, not a motorcycle club but I've been on 4 rides with the local scooter meetup group, one ride was over 100 miles and a ride with the Ruckus group. I've met quite a few really nice people on these rides. I liked the pics. I remember back in the summer of '99, there was a Honda wingding group th...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

Keep the discount, and look for other groups in the area. I seem to remember talk once of a scooter group in the Springfield area. Check on the standard scooter forums... http://modernvespa.com/forum/ , http://www.modernbuddy.com/forum/index.html , http://burgmanusa.com/forums/ , etc. Or check some...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

I'm pretty sure I would get laughed at if I tried to join a motorcycle club with my PCX. I agree with the others... join for the discount, but find others to actually ride with. There's a facebook group of about 300 for local riders in my college town. Got an idea to place a thread in it inviting a...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

I was gonna say the same thing as gn2. If the discount will come in handy then keep the membership. If not, find a club that is more welcoming to you and the PCX. I've been giving the benefit of the doubt thing. So... I have quit going to their bike nights at a local canam spyder dealership. I real...

Motorcycle Clubs

SO it's been a while sense I posted! School started and have been very busy, even to ride my PCX. So far only been riding it to and from school. Have any one joined any motorcycle riding groups? I'm wondering because my University has a new one, that started last semester called the MotoBears (https...

Re: PCX Idling noise

Mine makes a kinda loud noise when traveling around 35mph. I took it to Branson, MO this weekend both on state highways and back roads... Each time I rode at 68mph I heard and felt a weird vibration like a belt that was flapping on something, maybe the belt transmission?

Re: What is considered high mileage ?

Where are you located? Must be in Europe because the red one in the USA is the 150. As for mileage, 11k is not high. It is just getting comfortable. Speaking of comfort, I would change that seat or get the hump fixed. It is a pain in the back. hey, the hump in my pcx's seat is very comfortable for ...

Re: Oil Dipstick marking

Did you have the bike on the center stand or the side stand. It needs to be upright and not leaning. If it was upright, then it looks too full and you should take some out. I bought my pcx150 the end of June and a week later I checked the oil... It looked like the pictures on this thread, being ove...

Re: Newbie

Get your first service done at 600 miles... haha, I got mine done around 800 and the dealership listed it at 600 miles. Nice if I want to sell the scoot. 160 dollars later for the service I scooted off and I can tell it runs better. Sorta drove it hard, but not really. I wanted to see how well it ra...

Re: Which helmets fit/don't fit under the seat

Just going by the comments on this forum from many users with many brands of helmet from across the globe - a very high percentage say their helmet does not fit, so seems to be the norm. How many members on this forum? (1577) How many have reported non-fitting helmet? (maybe 30, 50...?) Looking at ...

Re: Another PCX 150 proud owner

I've looked up disharmonic resonance but really can't find anything on it... What does it mean for an engine? There are many studies published on engine harmonic dampening. Here is just a primer from a quick search, but there are many more in physics journals. Again, this is not a peer reviewed art...

Re: Which helmets fit/don't fit under the seat

HJC IS-MAX Helmet
Size: Small
Does not fit, but can close the seat forcefully on it, but the helmet pushes the seat up and you can tell something is in the compartment.

Re: Newbie

Take off the dealer license plate frame (advertisement) and replace it with a plain black frame like I just did today (or a bling frame if you like that). The old version Honda motorcycle cover will still fit. Hold off on the trunk rack until you find out what is supposed to fit on the 2015. Mine n...

Re: R.C.T on 2013 pcx

Hope you're doing better... I'm a new rider too with about 720 miles on my PCX. As I've started riding on faster roads, I've started buying more protective gear. My helmet originally, a HJC IS-MAX I only road with jeans/long sleeve shirt for practicing on parking lots, then I started out on the resi...

Re: Another PCX 150 proud owner

Around 30-35 mph The engine sounds kinda like a Harley and I can feel the vibrations the most from the engine at that speed. The vibration you describe likely to be disharmonic resonance. Every engine except an inline six will have it. I'd like to hear if other riders have a vibration at the same R...

Re: Another PCX 150 proud owner

I've noticed with my PCX that it's gaining speed and better gas mileage as I drive it more. It has about 720 miles on it and it's first service scheduled in a couple days. I have rolled the throttle to the max maybe 8 times. Around 30-35 mph The engine sounds kinda like a Harley and I can feel the v...

Re: the motorcyclist Wave

Don't let the image sway you to buy or not buy a Harley (or any bike). Buy it because you like the bike itself, or not buy it if you don't. Buying for image is why so many Harleys end up being garage queens and being sold after a few years with low mileage. Actually the Harley image is a turn-off f...
