Re: New Forza 300 vs PCX 125
Thanks for all the comments. I think what I miss most is being able to whizz round and past slow moving cars in and around town. On my PCX 125 I have to build up momentum to have much of a chance. In my Suzuki Bandit 600 days it was a piece of cake. If the Forza 300 can bring that back to me that wo...

Re: New Forza 300 vs PCX 125
Thanks for your comments. So there would be a significant rather than modest difference between the two, worthy of the additional financial investment?

New Forza 300 vs PCX 125
In a couple of months time I am contemplating trading in my faithful PCX 125 for the new Forza 300. What differences am I likely to notice, please, such as acceleration from traffic lights, comfort and manoeuverability through traffic?

Re: Noisy engine noise when accelerating..?
Shame we can’t get a 150cc engine version of the PCX here in the UK. All about keeping it learner friendly, no doubt, but still a shame. Even the new Forza is a 125cc although you can still get the 300cc, I think.

Re: Sticking centre stand
Happy days! Refitting the cleaned, greased centre stand turned out to be a piece of cake...even for me  The bit I was dreading was reattaching the spring. The guide shows attaching the upper end of the spring at the pivot end of the stand and sliding the hooks at the lower end down a Philips sc...

Re: Sticking centre stand
Sorry if I wasn't clear, as you have discovered, once pivot pin has been driven the small amount which frees it from the locating lug, the spring needs to come off to get the pivot pin all the way out. Thanks for clarifying. I couldn’t see any other way than removing the spring - still a bit of a s...

Re: Sticking centre stand
Pleased to say that I have now managed to remove the main pivot pin to remove the centre stand. Hurrah! WD40 must have helped as did finding a suitable bar of metal to reach past the exhaust pipe to the pivot end to hit with the hammer. That said, although the pivot extended by a couple of centimetr...

Re: Sticking centre stand
Thanks, Paul. I have been following (well, trying to) the excellent instructions posted earlier: https://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1344
But I couldn't see anything about removing the spring so I assumed it had to be removed to get the shaft out... Thanks for confirming that it does.

Re: Sticking centre stand
My split pins and grease arrived today, so out I went to have a go. So far the pin hasn’t budged so I will soak even more with WD40 before trying again. A question did occur, though. Does the spring need to be removed first from the opposite end?

Re: Sticking centre stand
Goldilocks dilemma....which bowl of porridge...?
Getting 3 x 28mm split cotter pins is proving very difficult. I can get
3 x 38mm (much too long?), or
2.5 x 28mm, or
3.2 x 28mm (too fat?)
Any suggestions?

Re: Sticking centre stand
Thanks. That's good to know. Presumably doesn't have to be Honda OEM split pin.paulcoup wrote: The Split (or Cotter) pin is 3.0mm x 28mm long.
The Honda OEM part number is 94201-30200.

Re: Sticking centre stand
Oh, I see. Being close to the road I thought it would be caused by the gradual penetration of dirt from over the rainy months. Clearly not. I see there are various sizes of split pins out there. Do you know the size i need, please?

Hallelujah! This is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you so much. I’ll get me some grease and a new split pin then I’m good to go.

Re: Sticking centre stand
Thanks for the reply, Paul. Your description makes it sound like the whole stand should be quite easy to remove, clean and reassemble ? ...even for me! From the diagram, it looks like the pin (#11) is pulled out releasing #3 which slides out of #2? That simple? I have never heard of lithium grease b...

Sticking centre stand
My centre stand has started to stick. When I push my PCX off it’s centre stand, the stand retracts most of the way back up but not completely...without a bit of manual help. I am guessing that there has been a build up of road dirt underneath that needs to be cleaned out? Although I found a parts di...

Re: Noisy engine noise when accelerating..?
I can relate to that. I change the stock dark visor for a taller Givi clear visor in the winter time. Here on the flat east coast its much dryer than the rest of the UK but far more windy. I can almost do that with my eyes closed, now, but it started with YouTube videos illustrating what to do.

Re: Respray versus replacement?
If the scratches are on one of the front covers, it will take quite a bit of effort and time to replace it. Like one member suggested, save the replacement panel until you are getting ready to sell the bike. Left and right side covers have scratches, and the left sticky out panel (!) by the headlig...

Re: Noisy engine noise when accelerating..?
Thanks, Mel. Having the support of the forum has been invaluable and greatly appreciated....especially if it saves me hard earned money. I only do about 1000 miles a year and have had a full service for the bike each year in spite of my low mileage. Nearer the time - September actually - I must lear...
