Re: Suzuki V Strom 650 ABS Adventure

Let me know how you like your Parabellum. I really want the Givi Airflow, but can't quite swallow the $250 pill.

I'm on StromTrooper as well, same s/n.

Re: Suzuki V Strom 1000 Adventure ABS

I love my DL650. 2015 w/ a hair over 1,000 as of this morning. Averaging 59mpg. Perfectly fine at 30 mph, 45, 55, 85. Comfortable 2-up, even with a tall wife. Nearly as quiet as the PCX... which is nice, but I'd like a 2Bros or Yoshi exhaust on it. http://i.imgur.com/pC68Y4n.jpg http://i.imgur.com/d...

Re: PCX 150 vs Forza 300

How many miles are on your PCX? How much do you weigh?

I'm 6'1", 240lb (naked) and had no issues hitting the limited (~62mph) without a fuss.

Re: Fly brand jackets?

I would recommend Joe Rocket gear to anyone on a budget... other than their gloves. I've had great success with all of their products. I purchased three pairs of gloves; 1 for my wife, and 2 for me (warm/cold). Both of mine had the stitching come loose within 2 months of ownership. My wife's are sti...

Cool! If I had the room, I probably would have kept the PCX. But, on top of the lack of space, I felt that the PCX would be left sitting too long and often to really keep it.

Re: Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

Yeah, starting to get the itch myself. Something tells me when Spring 2015 rolls around, my PCX150 may get replaced with this: http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/2015-VULCAN-S-ABS It'd be my first motorcycle, but I just cannot stop thinking about it. Not too powerful, ABS option, adjustable handlebar...

Re: Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

I'm envious. I was looking at Suzuki Boulevard S40's last year. $5,500. Did that model tempt you at all? Is the V Strom worth the $10,000? Maybe i should ask you that question in 6 months. I've had cruisers in the past. The S40 has never been near the top of any list of mine, personally. The S40 is...

Re: Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

Dave is maddiedog, right?

It is quite high, for sure. I have a 32" inseam and I can plant roughly 1/2 of both feet down at the same time. If it were 1/2" taller, I wouldn't own it. There are multiple ways to lower it (suspension, seat, etc) if needed.

Huh... never noticed the clear screen of the Forza. I agree, the black looks much better.

Still weighing the options for top case.

Re: Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

I would actually get the Ninja 650 over the FZ siblings. I love the Ninja. Excellent, nearly bullet-proof, engine, comfortable ergos, good price, etc. Although the Ninja is a bit more pressure on the wrists, it wasn't terrible like the true sport bikes. However, it mainly came down to 2-up comfort. ...

Re: Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

Hey Yak, Trade in on the PCX was $2000. I probably could have got a few hundred more selling myself... but I'll gladly take a 10% loss to not have to deal with Craigslist people. Plus, the tax benefits probably erased any loss. My commute to work is nothing but hills and curves. I would slow to unde...

Said goodbye to my PCX this weekend.

When I bought my PCX in February of 2014, I told the dealership to let me know if they get a V-Strom 650 in stock. I called multiple times about it, they called me a couple times, but nothing. Finally, on Friday, Nov 7, the salesman called me and told me they just got 2015 in. I told him to have it ...

If I were a potential buyer, I'd be far more concerned about the rust covering nearly every metal part of the scooter. New panels will probably accentuate this issue.

Re: Side stand or center stand when you park your bike?

I have no rhyme or reason when choosing side vs center. The only thing I can think of for sure that I do is park it on the center stand if I know I won't be riding for several days. If I'm out and about, or park at work, etc, it's usually on the side stand. However, I'll throw it on the center stand...
