Re: Newbie with a fresh 2014 pcx

Was thinking of getting a White PCX, or red one, now looking at yours maybe a black one - decisions, decisions . . .

Re: New Guy in Franklin, TN

I'm still not sure of the new style sh125i (new PCX engine and 2013 dash) or a PCX, but waiting on the 2014 new style PCX to be available before I get one. I thought the SH has more top end than the equivalent PCX (for 125, read 70 rather than mid 60mph) but not sure about that or the US 150's. Shar...

He's converting from kilogrammes to pounds.
1 kg is roughly 2.2 lbs
completely missed the kn/lbs and rad it as kg's!

Re: Newbie with a fresh 2014 pcx

I can try to ask but the sales people weren't at all helpful or welcoming in comparison to buying in the UK. They barely let me take it for a test drive, came with no fuel and I had to pay cash. When I asked they said that to return the bike within 500km for its first oil change. I'm on 160km now s...

Re: Newbie with a fresh 2014 pcx

Damien - can you say if Honda have changed the service interval for the valve clearance on the new model? I think this was raised elsewhere but I can't recall seeing anyone know or answer. Thanks!

Re: 2014 Honda PCX

The LED lights on my 2014 seem to work pretty well at night too http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o455/QuackShotDamo/pcx/th_IMG_1614_zpsf7171abc.jpg Seems good coverage up front. I would still prefer more of a spread than the line of leds at the back, but as long as it's bright and lasts, not bad....

Re: First Service

If you wish to retain the Honda Warranty, then that is the given service interval - 2500 the next and then every 2500.

Re: 2014 Honda PCX

For me, like GN2, I'm not stuck on the look of the rear led light block - looks tacky to me and I've seen far, far better on other vehicles on the road. I've never been stuck on the chrome handle bar used on old and the new model either - much prefer a black one, but you can't have everything.

Re: Insurance....

My earlier reply was coming from a UK perspective, things may be different in the US and vastly different if your premiums, with no claims protection, are low. I'm holding out till the new PCX is available before purchasing a PCX/SH or similar, but the quotes I got are between £300-400 or double tha...

Re: headlight

I wa under the impression that the europe and US offerings did not have a switch - just dim and main beam. The Thailand version does have an on off switch.

Re: LED Tail Light bulb

Wonder if it works - the link you gave mentions the flasher unit needs to be led compatible as they are very light load compared to filament bulbs.

Re: Insurance....

Depends on so many factors, but if the difference between 3rd PF&T and comp, excess, and loading on insurance next time is taken into consideration, it may well be better to take the 3rd PF&T option.

Scrape-ing side-stand or rear-stand when cornering

Hi, I've not got my scooter yet, but I'm amazed how often I hear scraping noises in video's of scooters when cornering at what seems moderate speed. The riders sometimes comment on this but it seems to be due to the lower ground clearance of scooters and the stands. Perhaps it takes time for people ...
