Re: Pcx Racing Yuminashi Variator deal

What is going on with our group buy? Are there enough takers?

Any thoughts how this unit will perform on a PCX125?

Thanks.

Re: Pcx Racing Yuminashi Variator deal

The Yuminashi site calls for the 164 light bore kit for this Variator.

What can we expect in performance with a stock 125 US spec PCX?

Re: Pcx Racing Yuminashi Variator deal

I looked the other day at Yuminashi's site, and I was impressed by the passion they put into thinking out what they do. I checked their US distributors and was not impressed. I then looked into how I would order one, but since I'm an American I was looking at the uk being my only hope. I just had my...

Re: I have Finally Solved the Tie down problem!

So the tube holds onto the strap, and it acts as a keeper, to prevent it from slipping out. It took me a few minutes to absorb that one. Not sure what the tie wrap is doing... So do you place one or two on each side? Do you plan to use a ratcheting tie down, or bungees? I used a bungee net with 3 ho...

I live a mile off the Florida beach. Anything aluminum turns white, on anything that is bare. Trucks, cars, bikes, mailbox's, BBQ grills. My second hand two year old unit has the same signs. I recently unmounted my ECU module, to brush off the white powder, and spray a coat of paint on it, just to s...

Redlights and small scooters

In South Florida, most intersections use vehicle sense schemes as described in this writeup: http://www.wikihow.com/Trigger-Green-Traffic-Lights My 1984 NN50MD has the ferrous metal content of a hefty flyswatter, and my new PCX125 isn't much better at being acknowledged at intersections. I took the ...

Re: my pcx stalls when I open the throttle(once a time per 2

Does anybody have a spare ECU to loan kalal1622, for testing purposes? As the fleet of PCX's age, more weirdness will come up. Folks will always justify any other part, before going for the expensive ECU. I'm not saying it is or isn't his ECU. But if his weird issue continues, I know he would love t...

Re: tapping noise when idling

There is simple fine threaded nut that locks the screw adjuster that actuated the valve. The worst case is that the nut got loose, and the nut and screw adjuster falls out of the rocker arm. If that happens, I couldn't say with certainty how severe any damage would be to your upper head, especially ...

Re: 2 year service performed

Judging from the circumstances, information from hobbiest dealer, and general neglect evident, I'm confident I'm the first wrench.. The bike really wasn't that messed up. I'm tickled with the deal. The bike needed a good home, and is happy to be parked in a garage with a tool chest, and some one who...

Re: All PCX people - Swingarm Removal Issue

I live a mile from the beach. In 2003 I bought new Chevy Silverado, which I traded in last May with only 79k on it. It was appalling the level of corrosion that truck suffered. The steel brake lines rotted, and my wife lost brakes one day. That prompted stainless steel line. blah blah blah, which ne...

I recently acquired a 2011 PCX125 with a bald tire, and 6700 miles on it. I told you about my tale of woe regarding the stuck swing arm. I opted to put down the big hammers, torches, and electric sawzall's to split the reduction gear box. The end result was great, getting there was a chore. This for...

Update - Resolution.... This tire change morphed into a major DIY service event. To stay on the topic of this post, I'll keep it pithy, on topic in regards to the stuck Swingarm Assy, that kept me from removing the rear wheel. I will address the other maintenance items in another post. Speaking with...

Re: Smashed up front end

Find out from your insurance company about it's plans for disposal. It would be a great buy for parts. The price the dealer gave you is what they need to charge to pay for their overhead. A DIY person would love to fix it... (like me) It will probably land in an auction somewhere...

Re: All PCX people - Swingarm Removal Issue

By the way, Honda did not make a 150 in 2011, the first one came out in the summer of 2012. If the bike is white it is a 125. The colors in the U.S. for 2013 PCX 150 are red or black. Just a thought. Check the paperwork, and the history if you can find it. The U.S. version has turn signal lights th...

Re: US Version PCX: Lack of Idle Stop Feature

Great feed back! I have more pressing matters with my PCX, with the swing arm bearing seized upon the output shaft, among other maintenance items. I love the starter technology in this scooter, and with the idle stop feature's potential I was really geeked, as I do like killing the motor at stop lig...
