Re: Where do people live
Right near the San Diego airport a block from the bay. The roads around me are either litterd with traffic lights and intersections, or freeways. My MPG suffers compared to most everone else here as a result. My freeway riding is spent riding full throttle almost all the time which nets me about mid...

Re: variators so whats the best?
I don't know about the "best" but I use the stock roller weights in my NCY variator and get 79mph when the rev limiter hits.

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Of course, even cheaper would be to just pick up some DR Pulley sliders and use the stock variator on my 2nd PCX. Except, not sure what weight sliders to use. Thinking if each weight change (+1g) adds 3mph top speed, and stock is 12g, then maybe 15g sliders. I'm only 150lbs, so I can give up some ac...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
This was my first mod and it allowed me to run 73-75mph on flats and 77mph down hill. Very economical upgrade. Looks like you went with 12g rollers. Mine came in yesterday and installed the 15gram rollers. Performance has been lost due to the weight. When i get back home i'll swap over to the 12gra...

2015 PCX seat onto 2013 PCX?
As soon as someone can tell me if the 2015 seat mounts up to the older models, that would be great! I know some of our european brothers already have the new model...maybe they can shed somelight on the possibility?

Picked up a 2nd 2013 PCX150!
So, I already have a 2013 PCX150 and a 2010 Elite 110, but someone near me was selling a used (with only 16 miles!!!) black PCX150 just like mine. I ended up getting it for $2,300, and it was in perfect condition! Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but if I keep it, I will do an NCY variator bec...

Re: So, I dropped my bike. A cautionary tale.
Sorry to hear! I was filling the oil on my other scooter (Hnda Elite 110) the other day and rather than get a funnel, I tipped it way over and poured straight from the bottle. When I leaned it back on the centerstand, it rocked off it and I tried to catch it. I was SOOO close, but nope. It fell over...

Re: valve adjustment
My PCX 150 goes 79 with a fresh belt and NCY variator with OEM roller weights as only mods. 2k miles and I bought it used with 1k. A youtube poster said he did his 1st adjust at 15k miles and it was just barely out of spec. Given what a major pita removing all the bodywork is, I'm going to wait unti...

Re: Bad mpg
I don't wear an anorak logepoge, The main thing in reference here is the aerodynamic drag of loose/bulky clothing, however small it is, still has an impact. I have 2 riding jackets. One is perforated and the other isn't and feels like a sail in the wind! Yes, keep an eye on those tire pressures! I ...

Re: PCX 150 Further mods
If I put those lower shocks on her bike will it lower the bike itself any? I am saying this because I notice that the center stand is mighty close to the ground already, so I don't want it any lower or it would hit when we hit pot holes. As for top end, she just wants to be sure she can hit a true ...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Im doing 60-65mph on the flats. Then up hill i'm hitting 55-60. The bike is all stock for now. and just hit 3k miles as of yesterday, we rode all over San Diego. Order up the NCY variator for approx $60, purchase a new belt, and bring it over to my place if you need to and we can swap it all out in...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Eureka! 79mph where the limiter kicks in with the stock clutch unit with the NCY Variator with OEM black rollers. The difference? A new belt! Didn't think it'd be that much of a diffference with the bike only having 1500 miles on it, but my suspicion is that with the higher rpm takeoff's with the fu...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Stock contra spring with NCY variator and 12g rollers will yield 77mph on a 150 So is this what you're using then? NCY Variator 12G roller and NCY Clutch assy with only the OEM Contra Spring swapped in? If so, I can try switching that out as well. =) BTW, Josh...got your PM. I'm in Pt Loma area in ...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Ok, so I've got the NCY complete clutch kit...the one that is just under $300. So you're saying you only have the NCY variator kit? I took the NCY clutch unit out and put the stock unit back in, but am still running the NCY variator with the heavier of the 2 sets of roller weights, which I believe a...

Re: De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts
Oops...PCX150 is what I have. No other mods other than NCY variator kit. I just threw a new belt on yesterday to see how much that would help but have yet to see what I gained from that. Anticipating it will get me to 75pmh. No other changes than that. Hmm, 78? That's pretty awesome. My revs did dro...

De-modded from NCY Variator to kinda stock...my thoughts.
Purchased the scooter with the NCY variator kit in already from the previous owner, but recieved all OEM parts. Top speed was 72mph and had dropped to 71 after about 500 miles (presumably due to belt wear) with the NCY kit. Here's my observations. Scooter accelerates fast (with NCY) but starts to ru...

Re: 7500 service advice
I have 17,000 miles on my 2013 PCX150 and have done nothing but oil changes, spark plug once, rollers once, and tires, still runs and sounds like new. IMO people worry too much. It's a small Honda engine that is practically bulletproof. Have you even done the belt yet? If not, how much top speed ha...
