Re: Ex PCXer asking for a favour

Have to admitnI am a bit hesitant about it as a first bike. But its sort of more "scratch that big bike itch" and then go back to sensible in a year or so. This one just seems to tick all the boxes if you will... Heated grips, scottoiler, full service, top box and a very good price hence t...

Ex PCXer asking for a favour

Hello all, I am an ex PCXer (still miss the bike to bits as my friends will testify) and have just passed my big boy bike test. I am now looking at the tons of options on offer. I seem to keep coming back to Honda VFR 800s. I have just seen this gorgeous litte number on an auction site (yep, that au...

Re: Misfire help

Thanks for the quick replies people.... The gasket seemed fine and I was very carefull getting the exhuast back on so I hope that isnt the case... It may well be the gap on the plug.... never having used a set of feeler guages (and not knowing how to use one) prevent me from doing so.... Any alterna...

Misfire help

Heygood people I have a little niggle that has popped up on my 2011 PCX 125.... Yesterday I decided to do a service as it was almost due. Changed the oil, air filter and spark plug. I couldnt do that oil strainer as it just wouldnt come off and I didnt want to force it. Today I have noticed the thro...

Re: Stolen PCX recovered - need advice on fixing

Where abouts do you live Tom?? Just saying if you live in London (specifically the South) I would recommend Chas Bikes in Southwark who seem to be quite decent and honest when it comes to repairs etc. Having said that, if you do decide to repair it yourself, think of it as an opportunity to personal...

Re: Stolen PCX recovered - need advice on fixing

Really sorry to hear Tom. It is just annoying when you hear these stories. Some right idiots out there. I am also on a provisional and did go with MCE when I first got my PCX October last year (renweal time soon). They quoted £200 fully comp with an excess of £700 which was half the cost of the bike...

Re: Drive wheeling spinning on idle - Normal?

The rear wheel on my 2011 UK PCX 125 rotates as well. Looking at homie's video, mine probably rotates at half that speed on idle on the CS. I see it every day simply because I leave it on for a min or two to warm up.

Incidentally homie... Kudos on how clean that bike is...spotless :) :) :)

Re: Life saving tip

I got the City grips from here http://www.blackcircles.com/ Cant get the link to work for the city grips but got the standard size. Cost me £85 including delivery and had them put on by Protyre near me who charged £50. I have done just over 200 miles on them now in the last 2 weeks or so. I have to ...

Supercar Sightings

Looks like all the rich people are out and about Earls Court in London these days. Between yesterday and today I have seen 1. 3 x Bentley Continental GTs 2. Maserati Quatroporte 3. Ferrari F40 (drop dead gorgeous!) 4. Porsche 959 5. Porsche 911 Turbo 6. Porsche 911 GT3 7. Ferrari F430 8. Lamborghini...

Re: Hello Everyone!

That TG ride episode was excellent. I suppose one thing you have going for you is that you will not be riding very very old bikes (or have friends sabotaging your bike) so you should have relatively less problems. Would love to do a ride like that. But I would imagine it would be a gruelling old slo...

I was gonna say the same thing as gn2. If the discount will come in handy then keep the membership. If not, find a club that is more welcoming to you and the PCX.

Re: Idling Stop

I have never really used it. I had it on right at the beginning for a bit but once stopped at lights, when I twisted the throttle to go, nothing happened. So I had to push to the side to get out of the way of traffic as the bike just would not start. Tried a few times with about 30 sec intervals in ...

Re: Is this normal? - Exhaust

My 2011 stays on the drive overnight (need to get a cover for the rainy season though) and underground car park during the day. It started showing the rust at around 11k miles. I just cleaned up the rust and painted over with high temp paint from Halfords (thats my second mention of them today... an...

Re: Inflating cold/hot tyres

I use a digital tyre inflator that I got from Halfords. Use it for the car and the scoot as well. It runs off the cigarette lighter so would only be useful to you if you have the new PCX with the power outlet in the glovebox. Mine being the older one, I just park it next to the car and run the pump ...

Re: Question about tyres and drive belt replacement

You need a strap wench to hold the clutch drum while you undo the nut to get the rear pulley off. The belt won't come out with the rear pulley in place. I haven't changed a belt on a Forza as you have but on everyone I have changed I've just pulled the pulleys apart manually Fair enough. Then you d...

Re: Life saving tip

It seems I have been getting involuntary practice of emergency stops recently. Once in the rain (for those of you in London) on the elevated section of the A4 when going between a stopped line of traffic, a dingbat decided the 6 inches of space in the other lane was for him and he just booted it so ...

Re: Big bike to scooter

Hi, new member here, hope everyone is well ! Returned from my local dealer earlier having placed my order for a new 2015 Pcx 125. Took one out over the weekend and I have to say I loved everything about it. I was a bit concerned as the main purpose of the scoot is a 30 mile commute for work and the...

Re: Question about tyres and drive belt replacement

I have tried Stock irc's, Dunlop scootsmart and now have city grips. City grips are far superior to stock and much better than the dunlops in my opinion. I have used only the stock belt and like to change this around every 7k miles to prevent wearing the variator and to maintain vmax. The more your...

Re: A tragic reminder for us all... Warning : Graphic conten

No one wanted the mother to portray her son in a bad light and it was extremely brave of her to allow the video to be used. However, (and I agree with Kenno on this) it sort of sends a message that this is how bikers will ride and that its the responsibility of car drivers to be careful. It would ha...
