Re: Just need to say I'm blown away that people doubt and refuse to believe the 21 can hit 85mph

Perhaps 85 mph was its speed down a 60 degree slope......sounds about right......

Re: Flashing Red LED Light

This is the flashing tail light that I use on my 2015 PCX150. I mounted it on top of my top box, using a mounting piece that was originally designed for an oil pressure gauge sender. You could also mount it in the license plate area. It is VERY bright, quite visible during the daytime and especially...

Re: Ethanol Free

Since ethanol has less energy per gallon than gasoline, the logical question might be: Why are alcohol race cars (e.g., Alcohol Funny Cars used in drag racing) faster than similar cars which use gasoline? Here's one reason why (from Hot Rod Network): "An engine that is burning methanol or ethan...

Re: Ethanol Free

Additional info:

A gallon of gasoline contains about 1/3 more energy than a gallon of ethanol.

A gasoline / ethanol mix burns cleaner than non-ethanol gasoline.

Non-ethanol gasoline will steadily become less available.....nearly non-available by 2022.

Re: Ethanol Free

Just to clarify: When I said "Ethanol produces less power for a given quantity versus gasoline, so "watering" gasoline down with ethanol would produce less power (and mileage) per gallon.", I didn't mean to imply that ethanol inherently contains water. Here's a better way of sayi...

Re: Ethanol Free

10% ethanol gas definitely reduces gas mileage versus ethanol-free gas. My PCX150 gets 105-108 mpg on ethanol-free gas. That's all that I have routinely used. I tried a few tanks of 10% ethanol gas just for comparison. The mileage dropped to 95-100 mpg every time. My car gets about 32 mpg on a freew...

I didn't have to do any drilling to mount the KR1136 base.

GG, is that your picture ?
Or is it someone else that I should already recognize ?
Or perhaps a disgruntled new PCX150 owner who just found out about the PCX200 ?
Just curious.......

Re: PCX200

The new Honda PCX200 will look and run a lot like this one (which served as the prototype) when equipped with the optional nitro supercharger. I couldn't help noticing that the top box hasn't been installed yet........and it's so noisy that you wouldn't be able to hear Snoop Dogg rapping even with t...

Re: PCX200

Yeah, GN2, but do those 2 scooters have the supercharger option (or even the 15 inch woofers) ? You can't go stylin' through the WalMart parking lot on those, blasting out hits like " Snoop Dogg Sings Classic Christmas Rap Tunes", "Jay Z. Sings Classic Sinatra Rap", "Donnie ...

A little bit more info about the supercharger package: It includes a wider real wheel which will accept a drag racing slick..... plus an anti-wheelie bar that can be flipped up and latched onto the back side of your top box when not in use at the drag strip or when street racing (Honda thinks of eve...

Re: PCX200

Oh, I forgot to mention: The PCX200 will have a supercharger option ( $2,000 extra) that gives the scooter about 100 hp. With that option installed, you'll have to replace the drive belt ~ every 100 miles, though. No problem: Just replace the rear tire and drive belt at the same time. Also, I think ...

Re: PCX air scoop ???

I've heard and read that the air scoop "hole" lowers back pressure on the back side of the windshield so that the front of the windshield lifts air higher and reduces turbulence. Whether that's true or not, I have to admit that I really don't know. My Givi D1130ST tall windshield has the a...

Re: PCX200

Thanks, White Noise. This is just for you: And the PCX200 will have wider profile 14 inch tires for better grip and a higher speed rating. One staffer estimates that the PCX200 will be speed limited to ~ 79 mph (rather than the current ~ 63 mph). Heated grips and seat will be standard on the new mod...

PCX200

Just announced yesterday: The 2017 PCX will have 200cc as a direct replacement for the PCX150. The price is expected to be increased by about $ 500. The PCX200 will have about 5 more hp than the current PCX150, but the gas mileage will actually improve slightly due to taller gearing that will be use...

Re: Little undecided on a windscreen

I haven't seen any significant difference in performance or mpg since I installed the Givi D1130ST tall windshield on my 2015 PCX150. It still gets to the speed limiter (about 63 mph per my i-phone GPS app) easily. I still get 103 - 108 mpg using non-ethanol gas (if you can believe the instrument pa...
