Re: PCX150 speedo accuracy?

I hadn't thought about the 'too many miles on the odo' problem - very interesting. Thanks chucktuna.

Re: Post your Mods & Rev Limited Top Speed Here!!!

I have a stock (no mods) Australian 2013 PCX150, with 500 km on the odo. I am 170 cm (5' 7"), 67 kg (148 lbs). Top speed (throttle open) on flat, smooth motorway at 30 m a.s.l. was 109 kph (67.7 mph, as measured by GPS) in a normal sitting position. Note: The PCX speedo was over-reading at 118 ...

PCX150 speedo accuracy?

I brought home a quality Garmin GPS from work and did a thorough test of my speedo across a range of speeds on my stock 2013 PCX150. In the 50 to 110 kph (31 to 68 mph) range, I got a fairly consistent result of my speedo reading 8% over the GPS result (some variance/noise, but definitely sat in the...

Re: Forza comparison to PCX150 and other small 'maxi scooter

Heavy is okay if CoG is low -- I think people care about this most when considering manoeuvrability for city riding etc. Horses for courses. I like the low weight of the Aprillia 300 for instance, but not the high seat (I'm only 170 cm). I think gn2's main point is that people consider a whole range...

Re: MCDMA: PCX 150 vs Forza 300 vs Burgman 650

The Integra is just an NC700 with different bodywork. It has less onboard storage than the X or S. Pile of shite. Well, people are always entitled to their opinions, and looks is one of those qualitative things that is hard to put into such an analysis. I personally like the look of the Integra. Wh...

Re: MCDMA: PCX 150 vs Forza 300 vs Burgman 650

In short, I think that if you are a Honda fan then you should be comparing each Honda in the chart categories. Agreed, in principle -- but they don't sell the Silverwing in Australia, hence my substitution of the Burgman :D The only Honda-made maxi-scooter is the 2012 NC700D Integra: http://motorcy...

Australian prices... (also, that is 'ride away', incl taxes, 1 year registration, compulsory 3rd party insurance, etc.)

Re: MCDMA: PCX 150 vs Forza 300 vs Burgman 650

True, model availability matters a lot. But you could think of the above as Scooters: Small/Mid/Maxi and just substitute your relevant brand/model -- the analysis still works. I hear what you say about purchase price -- if this matters a lot to people then they just change the weightings to reflect ...

Re: Forza comparison to PCX150 and other small 'maxi scooter

FYI, I did another comparison, looking at the relative specs/choice of the PCX150, NSS300 Forza and Burgman AN650, here:

MCDMA: PCX 150 vs Forza 300 vs Burgman 650

So in a previous post I did a comparison of a whole range of scooters in the 250-400cc range. I concluded that, on the balance of mostly objective criteria, the NSS300 Forza was a winner. See: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1946 However, I also wanted a way to compare requirements ...

Re: 3 and not out......

Wow, that is black! Or as Zaphod Beeblebrox might have said: "It's the weird colour scheme that freaks me. Every time you try to operate one of these weird black controls, which are labeled in black on a black background, a small black light lights up black to let you know you've done it. Hey, ...

Re: Forza comparison to PCX150 and other small 'maxi scooter

The Forza has 2 decent-sized glove boxes, but they are not what I'd call huge (although bigger than my dinky PCX's hidy hole!). Some good pics here: http://myforza300.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/2014-honda-forza-storage/ My HJC CS-R2 (size L) fits in my PCX underseat okay. If I buy a Forza, I'll probab...

Re: Forza comparison to PCX150 and other small 'maxi scooter

Agreed, storage space (and shape!) is another important feature -- but something that's surprisingly difficult to get measurements for (not typically reported). In the Forza for instance, the underseat storage looks ample, but the base is relatively flat and shallow at the centrepoint, which can be ...

Forza comparison to PCX150 and other small 'maxi scooters'

For kicks and giggles, I did a bit of research to compare some of the key specs of the NSS300 Forza with my PCX150, and a range of other currently available small maxis. I thought you folks might enjoy this, and also perhaps offer some feedback. Here is the table: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...

Mine is a HJC CS-R2 (full face), L size. Fit okay - albeit at maximum 'snugness' levels!

Re: New PCX-150 Rider Here

Well, I've had my white delight for about a week now. Done about 150 km around town so far, just running it in (and loving it to bits)! Couldn't be happier with the choice - it's zippy, manoeuvrable, fuel efficient and simply a pleasure to ride. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15859518/WD_PCX150...

Re: New PCX-150 Rider Here

Just put an order in for my new PCX 150 - my first ever scooter or road bike (I did lots of trail riding as a teen, but that was 20 years ago!). Made this choice after a lot of research, but in the end, nothing else stacked up to this Honda model. Will pick up on 9 November. Can't wait...
