Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences

Alternately you can copy the link to your map from google classic maps and paste it into the web link portion of gps visualizer, from there you get the download link to your gpx file. That's the easiest method. I tried adding pictures for that but the forum is giving me sizing errors. Try Motion X, ...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences

Lee, if your recommendation allows me to set a route on Google Maps and download it to my iPhone to run on some app, then let me profess my love for you now. Here you go. Select Google maps, you will need to "return to classic" until they finish the new version. Upper right corner d...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences

I love road trips!. Made one last spring of 6500 miles in about 14 days. If some of you are pondering GPS options give a tablet some thought. I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on a RAM mount with OSMAND+ (Free) maps and it works better than a Garmin imo. The maps are more detailed by far. I also use B...

Re: Commuting in Winter?

I've been doing this for a while now. I'm from Maine and moved south to Maryland a few years ago. From my observations about commuting in the cold. Get heated gear if your going below 50 degrees for any long period of time. You can make short hops and not be very cold but a heated jacket will make i...

Re: PCX for dedicated high mileage commuter.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like the PCX would be underpowered for the job. I don't have any highway on the commute and won't use the scooter for recreation (I have the Tiger). I'm basically looking for "just enough" bike for the job with the maximum fuel economy and minimal mai...

Re: Anybody use heated handgrips?

I have them on a Tiger 1050. I would recommend a heated jacket before grips. If you warm you core the rest of your body will be very comfortable, hands and feet. I rarely use the heated grips in the winter, I actually run non-insulated gloves too about 35 degrees. If the stator can handle it look at...

PCX for dedicated high mileage commuter.

Hello Forum, A little history before I begin with questions. I am a motorcycle commuter for many years, age 35. I grew up on 2 wheels on an island learning with 50cc Honda Express mopeds then dirtbikes and on to streetbikes. I currently commute on a Triumph Tiger 1050 at @ 20,000 miles per year. Thi...
