Re: Turn signal relay with a buzzer

Found the turn signal relay from the diagram on MaddieDog's post. Access was quite simple (2 screws and 2 clips to remove the front grille, 4 bolts to remove the meter visor and a bit of prying to remove the front meter panel), replaced the relay with the beeper relay. Brilliant results. It was quit...

Re: flasher location

Hi Maddiedog. Yes, your picture is worth a thousand words. Bought a beeper flasher relay (guy at the shop said it should fit the PCX) when I was on holiday in Penang last month but had wondered where the relay was located on the bike. Hope to replace the relay this weekend.

Re: How to: Oil Change for Honda PCX

Actually WhiteNoise, like you, I do use some of the old oil to coat my tools. I dissolve the oil in kerosine and use a spray bottle to spray the solution onto the tools. It is a nice, simple way to keep the rust at bay. The rest goes to the recycling depot. I suppose the attached poarer is a little ...

Re: Turn signal relay with a buzzer

Hi FritzPinguin, I am presently on holiday in Penang, Malaysia. Have found a relay with built in beeper but not entirely sure if it is the correct one for the PCX. It has two flat pins at right angles to each other. All it has printed on the unit is Apido A12.10.05. Was told by the motorcycle mechan...

Re: How to: Oil Change for Honda PCX

Thought I'd share what I use for my oil change. I change the engine oil every ~1,000km. I know this is overkill but fresh oil never hurt an engine. With a bit of preparation, I have managed to keep my oil change mess-free and quick. This is my Oil Change Kit: (1) Oil Change Kit.jpg Oil always drips ...

Hi Matt,
I found a piece of old car wiper blade, cut off a short length and with rubber cement, glued it to the glove. Works for me.
Cheers.

Re: How did I live without it?

Hi Binje, welcome to the Forum. The PCX certainly grows on you. I've only had mine for just over 3 months now and loving it. I commute daily and it's a joy to ride, beats driving a car and being stuck in traffic. Installed a Givi top box which helps when I have to run the odd errand for the kids or ...

Re: Which helmets fit/don't fit under the seat

Shark S500 and S650 in small do not fit. Interesting that the RSX in small fits.
I have now installed a Givi a top box which fit my helmets. My home made convenient helmet cable lock is still in the seat and comes in handy when I need the additional storage.

Re: Anybody use heated handgrips?

Hi Mich, I ride through the Auckland winter wearing Rain-Off (http://www.rain-off.com) gloves over my winter gloves. Like your rain gear, they are large and trap a lot of air, and they keep the gloves dry and warm. You can probably get them (or something similar) in the US. Heated grips would be a p...

Re: Charge card for 1 gallon of gasoline?

I'm lazy. I get the wife to fill up a 10 litre jerry can for me when she fills up her car. I top up the PCX at home. Get a couple of fills from 10 litres, enough for a couple of weeks.

Hi Hatari,
Welcome to the forum. Nice scoot, love the seat. Did the Dunlop TT low profile tyres make any difference to the bike handling?
Cheers.

Re: Convenient Helmet Cable Lock

Hi gn2, I couldn't find crimps large enough so settled for these. I guess the cable lock isn't going to stop someone intent on stealing the helmet, merely a deterent. Certainly will rebuild these when I find larger crimps. Thanks for reminding me that the cable lock isn't totally secure.

Re: Convenient Helmet Cable Lock

I'm only 168cm (5'6") and the seat "hump" isn't in the way, just feels odd. Have used the helmet cable lock a number of times now and do find it convenient. Quite nice that the helmet sits firmly on the seat.

Re: How long you been riding?

Learned to ride in Penang, Malaysia, at the age of 15 on a Honda 70cc step through. Progressed to a Suzuki GT250. Came to NZ as a student in '77 and had a little Suzuki 50cc 2-stroke to commute to university followed by a Honda Hawk 400. Stopped riding until about 6 years ago when I got back on a Su...

Convenient Helmet Cable Lock

This may or may not appeal to others. I had a problem securing my helmet. I use a Shark helmet which 1) doesn’t fit under the seat, 2) doesn’t have double-d rings so cannot use the helmet strap that Honda supplies, 3) I hate fumbling with a cable lock to secure the helmet to the bike and 4) I rarely...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences

Hi Pozo, that is one amazing endurance trip. I am across the other side of the world in NZ, just got my PCX for commuting and have wondered what it would be like for touring. I have another ride (Ducati 696) that I have used for trips around most of the country and my riding buddies have given me a ...

Re: Turn signal relay with a buzzer

Hi tomtic, Thanks for the links. I was hoping to take the easier option of locating a turn-signal relay with a buzzer integrated into the relay. Another member (FritzPinguin) mentioned in "Buzzers for Turn Signals" in the General section that they are readily available in Thailand and has ...

Re: Turn signal relay with a buzzer

Hi Nappier, I too am looking for something similar. I have a tendency to forget to switch off the turn signal. I understand there are "plug & play" relays that buzz or beep available but not too sure where to get them. The PCX is not common in NZ and as a result, not many places that s...
